The first video is now done, more to come...I may buy some new editing software first though.

I need to get some better pics, but the MTR's were installed last week and the Jeep rides WAY better. I wish the duratracs would have worked out, but the ride is so much better on the highway with the MTR's:

I went to the salvage yard today looking for #103 dash lights, I am not sure I want LED's. There was an 03 with white faced gauges, so I thought I would test it on the Jeep. I figured it wouldn't be compatible...it plugged right in and all the gauges worked. However, the ABS light was on. I have read that in other threads to, but thought I would give it a test. I also found that I really didn't like the look at all, so I will stick with the black. I am not quite sure what I am going to do, even the dealer can't order in #103 bulbs.

It was an expensive day for fluids...

Redline D4 trans fluid in the Acura

I picked up a WJ washer bottle from the salvage yard for $10. I haven't had mine in for a couple of years...If you look at the one on the right, you can see an entire tube of grey silicone. I picked up the other one so that I had the grommet and pump to use in a new bottle that I am going to re-locate.

Hopefully I will get to it tomorrow. I picked up a coolant overflow bottle for $10 from Napa. I plan on drilling two holes in the side, installing the two grommets and washer pumps in the side of the tank, building a heat shield, and installing the new system above the drivers side head.

Hi!!!

I'm amazed with your work and the looks of your WJ, so classy and so clean!!! It's simply wonderful to see a WJ with so many love and time spent on it!!! I hope to have my WJ simply as good as yours!!!

You've got a fan in Portugal!!!

Best regards,

Tiago

Gracias Amigo, and yes this is my wife's DD. I am glad I married a girl that loves Moab and loves wheeling. She is pretty comfortable on the trails, I am trying to convince her to run hells gate next time she drives Hells Revenge. Fin's N Things is her favorite trail, and she likes to drive it at night.

I started work on the the new wiper washer bottle today. It will be small and I will have to re-fill it frequently, but I haven't actually been running a washer bottle due to the bad location with large tires. Anything is better than pouring water out of the sunroof to clean your windshield.

The first step was to drill out two holes for the washer pumps. I may have been able to go 1/4 inch lower before the bend in the plastic, but oh well. I used a 3/4 inch bit, then used sandpaper to sand/enlarge it a bit more to match the diameter of the holes in the stock WJ bottle. I just used a rubber end cap and a worm drive clamp to close off the coolant tube passage.

Then I popped in the rubber grommets from the factory WJ bottle:

Pumps installed:

To trim down on height, I drilled new holes on the mounting tabs and cut the top section off:

I grabbed some spare sheetmetal and fabbed up a small box/bracket to hold the washer bottle. As it will rub a bit on a line above the engine, and also a brake line, I covered both with small lengths of rubber hose to prevent fatigue and/or rupture.

Image

The metal tray was necessary because this will be directly above the head and exhaust on the drivers side.
Then I pulled out the metal tray drilled some mounting holes in it and painted it black.

The final mounting task was to cut a bit off of the plastic cowl panel. I trimmed more than I needed to, but it is mostly covered by the gasket when re-installed and isn't visible with the hood closed. It is a coolant bottle, but I may try and come up with something to label the cap.

Like it! Think might do something like that myself so I can have room for my air compressor

In Portuguese you say Obrigado amigo!!!:) I wish my wife was with me in these adventures more often, but our work doesn't let us, I work by shifts and she does too!!! I think it is so nice that our wife gets along with us!!! Some adventure is good to the couple and the contact with the nature too!!!

I wish I had the Moab in here, I might be going to Morroco in 2 years time to test my WJ on the desert!!! It's not the same thing as Moab but is good too!!! But first I have to save some money and then prepare him!!!

Will keep up the good work!!!

I thought I would take a stab at it, I know Spanish but not Portuguese...so Abrigado Amigo.

Morocco sounds like a really fun trip, sand backdrops make for great pictures!

Hehehehe don't worry about that Will, you've tried and that is what it matters!!! Spanish and Portuguese are similar and we Portuguese people understand very well Spanish and so as they!!!

Yeah Morocco is a place to go, learn a little bit of their culture, take something to the kids like clothes, shoes and books and of course enjoy the desert landscapes and take a lot of pictures!!! Sand and adventure I think is a good recipe to a big trip!!! :)

best regards,
Tiago

So, a friend made a recommendation regarding my licence plate that I really liked, so I did it. The rear plate was attached to the rear tire swing arm. The edges are not super sharp, but sharp enough to be annoying and cut into you a bit when you lean on it.

His recommendation, use a dealership plate ring, but install it backwards behind the plate. It turned out Great!. I sprayed the bracket so the lettering is almost invisible:

Here is what it looks like, just a very small edge but it provides great protection and will hopefully save my arms from getting cut up on it.

Thanks Doc.

I finished wiring up the washer motors today, everything is working great. Also, we had the jeep on a road trip last week, and the engine compartment was very warm...driving the canyon highway's at 99 degrees. The heat shield works well.

Here is the heat shield, and the final product:

Which one has which Jeep? I really want to know what kind of tires are on the black WJ. Also the Green one has a great looking bumper!!!

We all have the 4.7 engines.

Sand Colored is clgielin on JeepForum. 242 swap, stock axles (30, 44HD) with lockers in both, 35 inch MTR's

White on is mine obviously, Stock axles (30, 44HD) with the factory LSD's. I was running 35 inch Duratrac's, but had to trade them in for MTR's the next week.

Green one is WJWheelin on JF, he has a 9" rear and 44 front both with lockers, running 35 inch Toyo's. The bumper was built years ago, and was originally on Shinobi (JF)'s rig, then on GraKee (JF), now on WJWheelin's rig.

Black one is 801DubJay, Stock axles (30, 44HD) with rear locker. He is running 35x12.5x17 Kuhmo's. He had 32 inch Kuhmos when he was on short arms, they are great tires. They sit pretty wide out b/c he is running spidertrax spacers on his axles. The rims are made by Black Rock. My bro has those tires in a 38 inch flavor on his Ford and really likes them. Moderate noise on the road, great traction offroad, and they are wearing fairly well.

No problem, plan a trip to Moab. GSW is always a blast. Everyone in the group is running 6 inches +. The black dub on 35 inch Kuhmo's is at 7.25 in the front, and 6.5 in the rear.

Here are some poser pics from Moab...I need another wheeling trip soon:
