Tyler, I will be there the 22-24th. Are you going to set up as a vendor? If so, I will come say hi. I might hang out there with Iceland Offroad for a while on Friday. If not, what trails do you plan on running?
Just saw this. I won't be setting up as a vendor this year. Still doing CR part-time and a one-man show. Friday I'll be running Pritchett, Saturday I'll be out at Area BFE running Helldorado and Green Day, a night run on Moab Rim sometime in there. Not sure what Sunday, may go hike through Arches with the GF.

What are your plans?

What had you used and what did you end up using? Pic of the new job :D
I used a paint thinner for oil based paints. This time I used a wax and grease remover made for paint prep.

Probably a night ride somewhere on Friday, and spectating at Potato Salad on Saturday, followed by some light wheeling. We will likely go hiking somewhere on Sunday too. It is national park week, and entrance fees should be waived both at Arches and Canyonlands. We figured it would be a fun activity before the drive home on Sunday night.

I am getting a pretty severe clicking in the front axle that I need to figure out before GSW. I replaced both CV's, and the diff has 5k on it. I don't know that I trust the diff though, six states didn't impress me with the install on the gears. I don't think it is in the t-case, but could be wrong.

Yuck. Unknown noises suck! Give us some details. Maybe we can give some ideas. Does it do it only when turning/going straight? Going Fast/Slow? Does it go away if you remove the driveline? Will it do it when you coasting (with or without engine running) or only when torque is applied? Etc.

It is likely the CV or front diff.

It does it with torque applied, and worse when turning. With a lot of torque up front, the sound is very loud (especially in 4LO). It is a click/thump that increases with wheel speed.

The CV's have 2k on them, the front diff has 5-6k on it, and the front driveline has 2k on the u-joints.. I guess it could be in the t-case, I need to pull the front driveshaft and test. It also has a vibration/griding noise (likely the same thing) that is starting to annoy me at freeway speed. It does quiet down a bit as the Jeep warms up. Maybe it doesn't get that much quieter, maybe I just get used to the sound. But it seems like it is worse when you first hit the freeway.

My drivers side fog light wasn't working, so I had to trace the wire and fix the break.

I pulled my K&N and cleaned it, it is drying right now and I will oil it and re-install it in the morning.

I pulled my old fixed endlinks off and installed my JKS Quicker Disconnects. It wasn't just a bolt in job though, both sides had tears/holes in the lower U where the endlinks mount to the front of the coil buckets. I spend time adding metal, straightening mounts, and welding.

Also, does anything look wrong in this pic? I didn't even notice this until now (installed by PO). The fixed end links didn't match up, one was straight and the other is bent. The bends are a factory bend...What's up with this garbage, terrible:

The joints were really getting annoying over the smallest of bumps on the road. This pic shows how much slack they have in them, I am glad they are gone. See how the one joint ball is twisted clear around? There was a ton of slack.

Welded, fixed, pins installed.

Looks real nice IrocZ. That piece is quite bent, took all this time to just notice it :) Glad at least it didn't cause any problems.

They are factory style S bends. I didn't notice anything wrong because I never compared them side to side. On its own, it is actually fine. I sold the ZJ that I built fron the ground up. I bought this one lifted and have done everything else to it. I wonder if the install shop just tossed something they had on there to get by, I doubt it came this way from RK...

I hope you are able to get a starter soon, your poor neglected Jeep is going to be angry with you.

Today was an expensive day: I bought seafoam, oil, oil filter, pre and post Cat oxygen sensors, Fuel Filter, Trans filters, Trans Go shift kit, trans fluid, diff fluid, LSD additive...I have stuff going on until about 3 PM next Saturday, but plan on doing a marathon Jeep day after that is finished.

Parts started coming in this week, and today was the day:

I poured Seafoam into the oil and into a running engine to clean int out a bit (earlier this week), and was ready today for: Oil and Filter, Front and Rear Diff fluid change with LSD additive, New O2's front and rear, New drivers side bump stop, New windshield wipers, removed stock windshield wiper fluid reservior, replaced fog light bulb...Still waiting for the transmission filters and fuel filter to arrive. I will install a TransGo shift kit, new fluid and filters next week before Easter Jeep Safari.

Did you try the classic Jeep trick? Wiggle the shifter to make sure it isn't your park neutral safety switch, did you try starting it in neutral?

The fuel filter is in, and the old one looked pretty dirty. I am glad I changed it.

I have too much going on this week. I will likely wait until after EJS to change the trans fluid, filters, and install the shift kit.

Found your build thread on this site now.
yeah, I am everywhere :)

This is the first Jeep site I joined, I really like the crowd here.

We went down to Moab for some wheeling this weekend. I had to test the flex and trim a bit more the night before we left:

I spoke briefly with the owner of the trailready rig on the way down, he was headed home. We stopped at the same gas station:

We arrived Friday, set up camp, and headed for the hills. We ran Top of the World. I met Moab4Life at the trailhead, and we wheeled with him. He was a great spotter, and it gave me a chance to test a few things out on the Jeep.

I had some issues with the oil pressure gauge, it looks like my sending unit is going out again... I have a clicking that is more pronounced in 4 lo than in high range. I need to chase that down before GSW.

The top third of the trail is where the fun wheeling was at, below that it was fairly tame. The view from up top was great.
