Hi y'all.
I'm looking to put cornering lights on the ol' ZJ.
Thought I'd get power from the turn switch, thats not gonna work as it alternates power (flashes).
Where can I get a steay power source from for cornering lights and have them connected to the turn signal [smilie=bal_ask.gif].
Look forward to your help.'
Thanks to all.

tap into the left and right wiring between turn signal lever and flasher.

Good Luck!

Hey thanks for the reply, but read my thread again.
It says the power alternates from the turn signal switch,
its not constant.
Sorry, my mistake. That being the case, I have no more idea then you do. [smilie=bal_ask.gif]

how about to your parking light wire... inside the truck the wire is dark blue/red at the head light switch, i forget what it is outside but i know it is isnt too bad to get to, take the air box out and the plug is right there on the driver side, the easiest way is to take the battery out for the passenger...

The power comes from the flasher to the switch. You cant use the stock switch to provide a constant 12v to the cornering lamps. If you take apart the column you can use the lever to actuate a secondary switch providing a relayed 12v to your lamps.

I'm not sure which year or model, but I know one of Cadillac's sedans has cornering lights that turn on when the turn signal is engaged. I don't know exactly how they wire it, but maybe looking into their wiring would help if that's what your trying to do with yours.

Yikes! If you like your grand don't take any electrical ideas from a Cadillac. Only old British wiring is worse. I think it should be easy enough to use the turn signals to trigger a relay to power your turning lamps. Let me take a look at mine and see if I can make you a diagram. Give me a week or so and I'll have exactly what your looking for. I did automotive electronics for about eight years so I think I can come up with a good solution for you. I'm slammed for the next week and a half but if your patient I can draw it up for you.

Cool, thanks.
I have since found out that you need to use a special relay
that takes the alternating turn signal power and turns it into
constant power plus about 3 seconds after the signal is off.
I'll try Waytek.

Really? I have never seen such a thing. That would've been very helpful with a lot projects I've worked on! Let me know where you find that and how much it costs. Thanks
