It has been a log time in the making. Lots of questions, lots of changing my mind, and finally lots of bills, but I am finally on my way to having the Jeep that I always wanted. [smilie=1zj2 (1).gif]
Ill comment on a few of them but a lot are self explained, but if you see something that catches your eye let me know and ill comment on it then. so here we go... Mounting the Tires -- first time I ever got to/had to do this (Video), little too much spay on it until we got it down, but one of the times we got a little crazy and it blew the valve stem right out... fun night all-in-all. http://s327.photobucket.com/albums/k...1111082046.flv ![]() ![]() Claytons 7" LA Kit, KOR HardCore sliders, Bilstine 5100 Shocks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, So that was all done yesterday (friday). Today I got the front all done, both arms are up, break lines ran, trac bar and dropped pitman installed. tomorrow I will start tearing into the back. I need to adjust the front arms to make them the same length I just threw them up so i could get the jacks out from under the front. Does anyone have any tips on back yard alignments so once it is done I can somewhat safely drive it to my shop to have it properly aligned.. Im not too worried about the price of the aligment since i am friends with the guy but i would have to imagine it is much more difficult to align with this kit from being stock. Do most places charge more or maybe not even touch vehicles with mods like this? Thanks for all your help though this. I cant wait for it to be done and be able to meet some of you out on the trails. Very nice dude! You should have painted that turdy so it looks a bit more polished haha! Everyone loves a polished turdy. Is that the wheel that I gave you? Just curious but glad its going to good use if it is. What are you doing with your stock wheels and BFG's? Just curious

i wanted to, but i have to get it done by sunday, so i dont have the time for touch up stuff, and with it up in the air i can always do some clean up while it is together.
the 33 with the wheel is on my friends jeep, i am using the 35 i got from you as a spair i just picked up 4 mounted 35s from someone i work with to go along with it.

new pics to come.. i just wanted to say
BUY A GOOD PAIR OF SAFTY GLASSES!!! I had a hot piece jump right into the very center of my eye today, you could actually see it in there and it burned its way in deep enought that i had no irritation on my eye lid.. Luckly it finally after a few hours came out on my own, ill let you know if i end up going to the doc's tomorrow as it is no longer blurry but lights still have a halo around them anyway, i also with i had access to a plasma cutter, because the cutting wheel is very difficult to get those tight areas to get the factory control arm mounts out. ok well ill get the pics up tomorrow, hopefully ill be driving then

Can't wait to see some pics!!!!!!!!! Sorry about the eye dude!! I always where safety glasses because of that. Had a teacher in trade school that lost his eye to steel that was in his eye and rusted causing an infection. Not cool!

yea i have them, and i wrote up a post but i guess i went over the pic limit i thought i only have 9 of them but now i have to retype it. hopefully tomorrow after i get out of class i will have a little time to do that.
in the mean time, i dont know what is wrong but (even though i know there is no adjustment) the camber is off.... my wheels are pointed in at the top twards the vehicle. so my guess is: 1) i bent my axles and it is just a lot more noticeable on the 35's than the 30's 2) i need to spin my axle.... backwards maybe.... and then adjust the toe -- this is the one i am hoping for but i figured i would throw the issue out there to see what everyone might be able to some up with.. I talked to someone at clayton's and they said the caster should be set to about 4.5 to 5 degrees. without taking it to a shop is there a way to set that up as close as i can to see if the fixes it then take it somewhere for the minor touches?

A perfect reason that everyone should get sliders as soon as they buy tires. this is just from dirt and clay...
![]() rear truss ready to be tacked and welded ![]() rear put back under the jeep ![]() so a little sorry and what Not to do... the front tires were almost under the back of the fender so the front arms had to be extened. realize that this was my 3 day of school/work/jeep that i have been going at this in a row and i was tired. it was around 10 at night and i had been up since about 6am. so not thinking correctly i thought "in order to do this i need to take both sides off at the same time" well i was taking the second bolt out and it was very tight so a little voice inside said if i do this the whole front end might fly forward. I should have listend i pulled the bolt and BOOM. the front flew forward. anyway this is how i got it back in place. Note to anyone doing this type of adjustment - there is plenty of play in the arms and axle to do one side at a time! the strap worked very well also, also no force needed to roll the tire back into place ![]() ![]() so the exhaust was in my way.... i figured the lift was more important... ![]() front end ![]() side shot ![]() and im 6' 2"!! ![]() I almost didnt make it out of the garage! -- wouldnt that have sucked!
