I'm no longer looking for another ZJ Vinny. Picked up a tow rig yesterday.

91 Dodge CTD, 5 speed manual 4X4 with one ton gear. It's a real black smoke machine.

That is fawkin sick Mike! I've been lookin at the first gen a lot myself. Doesn't take much to hop one of those things up. Nice truck bud, and nice to see ya got a Cummins.

I'm in as long as the rig is back up by then. I know, I know... After losing the air locker and wandering into BYS. I have it all torn apart again to replace the seals in the air locker, replace the rockers and cutr some more of the front end/hood sheet metal off. I was toying with the idea of moving the radiator to the rear so I could shorten the body by a foot or so but I'll wait until the next iteration for that. Hopefully May will give me plenty of time.

So who is in for Memorial Weekend this year @ Rider's Camp again? Soon my Heep will be done and I'll be leaving it alone leadin up for Memorial. It's become a tradition now, so I'm not missing it. Worst case, the trails might not have a buncha snow on them like last year and the rocks will be nice and dry leaving us a nice play ground :)

For those who were not there... last years pics...

im plannin on it as well, long as youll all have me. the greenmachine goes purdy good now with these tires, but i think the margins between us should be about same as last year since most you have upped your tire size also. I think the winch is a great requirement for us smaller tire rigs. F/R tow points as usuall, and front locker:)
had too much fun up fairview with chris yesterday. Blazing trail for a yota locked up on 37s does wonders for my ego. i plan to go back up as much as possible this spring. Snow is melted out down low, i guess manash. snow park is gone, and Centralgrand says the DNR has said you can go up barber springs. might be a fun place to do a group snow run, and try that "first one to the rocks" crap, before memorial.

plans may change, i might be free next weekend. I will know tomorrow. Chris come over tomorrow and finish putting your jeep together. Then next weekend we could wheel up there and maybe camp. anyone else?

Reider 3/7/2009, you going to be there?

Hi All,

I am going to be going up to Reider 3/7/2009 and meeting with Money Mark from NWW. He is bring out his 98 ZJ 5.9 for the first run around noon at the Rock Garden. I will be there long before that and will be happy to see some other grands there.:)

Are any of you Northwest Wheelers planning on going to Moab, UT for the Grand Slam West on June 5, 6, & 7, 2009.

I will be going, but I am not sure if I will be going direct or need to go to Sacramento, CA first to pick someone up.

It would be great to see a Pacific Northwest turn out as this will be my first Grand Slam ever.

Grand Slam Pacific Northwest

Well it is starting to look like we need to plan a Pacific Northwest Grand Slam then to get a bunch of local Grand’s together. I am up for it and willing to help, but it would need to be directed by someone with much more local experience then I have.

I also plan some how, with someone, to make a Natchez Trail run this summer going either direction, so I will be starting to look for talk on the various forms for a group making that run that I can join.

ya next year for me, I want to get an atlas and some coilovers before I take that trip. but if ya go Take lots of pics.

Reiter 3/7/2009 Having a Grand Time

Yesterday I got out to Reiter Trail area and ran around on Sac Up, Rino Land, Poop Shute and some other trail I can not recall the name of. Wasa great day even with the small damage I picked up. :)

Photos are not all that they could be, but it is hard to take photos and drive, at least for me.

How did Mark's 5.9 do? He break anything?
Sucker ran like a top and Money had a blast with it and nothing broke. He was going back to run somemore when I left, but he did not post about any damage in NWWheeler.com.

Oh yes, he loved the power from that 5.9!!

A grand Cherokee becomes a completely different animal once you remove the doors and rear hatch. They weight a whole lot and put that weight right on the outside of the rig. You COG is savagely improved once the doors are gone.

I'll be at Moab from the 9th to the 16th of May. Running the Rubicon sometime in August as well. In a few hours I'm going out to (most likely) pick up a trailer. :)
