Hey guys, My infinity gold's are toasted and I want to replace them but dont have the time to take the door apart to find out what size speakers are in the doors. Are the rears a different size? I have a pair of 6x9's that I want to put in the rear doors but want to know whats there already! Thanks

They have the 3-point triangular mount. Most standard 6.5" use a smaller diameter 4-point mount that doesn't work very well.

MOST IMPORTANT - the Infinity Gold speakers are 2 Ohms impedance. Most aftermarket speakers are 4 Ohm. If you put those in it sounds pretty bland. No bass. I learned this the hard way when I thought some component speakers would be good replacements. Ended up going to the stealership to get stock Infinity and it sounds better but not as good as it did new, because I still ended up putting the components in the rear doors.

OEM replacement speakers in the front doors are 2-way woofers, were $57 each at my local dealer.

The rear doors are 3-way, and were $119 each at the dealer, which is why I didn't do that. If you have the 10 speaker with sound bar in the back cargo area, then the rear doors are also the 2-way $57 jobbers.

If I had to do it again, I would have just bought 4 x OEM 2-ways.

I'm no stereo expert so hopefully someone else can chime in with another solution.

well that sounds good to me...but basically, its going to be on the laundry list for a long time...no money and I still have sound just no bass so until I actually care and have extra money they are staying...I was hoping to just swap in my 6x9's. Go figure,

10-4 on the $$$$

our old speakers played many-a-songs distorted and blown out before we could finally justify replacing them.

I put Alpine SPS series speakers on the end of my stock Infinity and they sounded real good. If I can get her to play a home burned disc in MP3 quality,it sounds pretty impressive for what it is. Exellent bass for a 6 1/2" speaker. BTW, this was about 4 years ago, so I dont know about the current model.

ummm, I'm pretty sure the ZJ Infinit gold speakers are not 2 ohm. I know for a fact the non infiniti speakers are 4 ohm and i'm 95% sure the IG stuff is also 4 ohm. Some of the newer mopar stuff is deffinately 2ohm though. The reason you lost bass when you swapped to a standard 6.5" speaker is the speaker didn't make a tight seal i the factory location (almost impossible) and there for you lose some of the lower end. You can get good midbass out of a speaker it jsut takes some dynamat (to seal the speaker and deaden teh enclousre) and a little more power--at least more than that little IG amp will put out (I think I measured mine at about 12 watts per channel).
