wanting to do some mileage and performance upgrades to a 97 grand ch. with 4.0.just got it,installed k&n filter. and mobile 1synthetic oil.any ideas for cap, wires, plugs or chips.it has 126,000 miles, last owner bought it with 20000 miles on it in 99.my last one had a 318 and i didn't realize what i had.would really like to trick this 6 out.any ideas would really be appreciated.thanks, btully :?:

I have a lot of repsect for in-line six's, I've owned a number of them, 3 or 4 225 slant-6's, a 258 and now a 4.0 in our WJ (I'm avoiding the 4.7, no offense boys, but...) But I love my 318's.... They are the perfect DD'ing, off-road motor for a modest weight car or truck. I've got two older original '72 318's and now, two '98 5.2's... They are great motors, just no two ways about it.... got love 'em... [smilie=bal_cool.gif]

A TBS to start. What are you doing with the rig?

Wires, get some 8.0's, plugs, I have the Bosch Platnum +2's and accel perf coil.

TBS is a waste of money(IMO), but sounds cool, lol

Chips from what I hear dont last to long.

If you just have the KN filter you should get the FIPK, then start working your exhaust. Cat back/headers.

Thats what I would do, but I have the awesome 5.2, so its obviously a little different, but same concept...

Ignition upgrades are always a good thing for DD's. This is what I would do

Intake
TBS
Header
Exhaust
O2 Sensors
Ignition
