I finally got around to posting some pics of the WJ. Here it is all cleaned up, begging to get muddy.

It is the snow monster, so I call it the Abominable SnowJeep, or Yeti
Yeti is a name for the abominable snowmonster (Nepal/Tibet).

I learned real quick how much I like the MTRs after towing the boat through a 100 yard section of really deep mud. The boat was a mess. After getting a few feet in, I thought I had made a huge mistake.

Image

Time to take a bath and get cleaned up. This is much better than waiting for hours at the boat ramp to put it in and out.

First time out wheeling it.

I don't dare flex too much, This thing needs some serious trimming before I can discover Moab. 315x75x16's are pretty big tires for the jeep. In front of the rear tire will be OK, but something needs to be done about the rear bumper.

Image

Motivation for visiting friends to lift their Grandy. He is currenlty raising his Gas tank and building a rear bumper. He may end up making many of the parts to do his own long arm kit. You can see the beginnings of the rocksliders he is making. They have been used extensively since he has been running in Moab without a lift.

Not to bad of a cruiser though. I really like the feel of the Long Arm kits. Much smoother than I had anticipated.

I would love to, but we just arrived in town from a road trip to Oregon and Washington. There are a few things on the to-do list for the weekend before going back to work on Monday. I want to hit up 5 mile pass soon though, I have never been up there. Where are you thinking of going?

#273 ·
Sweet, how heavy do you think it will be?

I don't think I will have time to put the t-case skid on today...too many other "projects" to get done. I did take a break to rattle can some text on the skid though:

Thanks, and make sure to post up some wheeling pics.

I installed my t-case skid today. There was a problem with fitment, and I was impressed with the response time from Kevin's Offroad. They had a new part out to me in less than a week. I will be buying from them again!

Since my long arm brackets act as a t-case drop, I needed to space the skid down. Rather than build something fancy, I came up with a great spacing solution. I just used two over sized nuts between the skid and bracket. It worked perfectly. I plan on laying down some bead to stitch the bracket to the unibody.

I am sick of hearing the licence plate rattle around in the front window, I drilled the front holes for the winch fairlead and installed that with the front licence plate over it...

I took the Jeep up to hills to flex it out and measure for new shocks. I am going to get shorter rear shocks as the ones I have are too long. They actually limit my up-travel.

Well, the rear brake line I ordered came in today. Now I just need to find time to install it.

Awesome Bro'' I allways like seeing pic's of your WJ, all flexed out, I would
lend you my Bilstiens 5100's but you probably have the same problem. :)
Ive been out beating the crap out of these King 2.5's and I thank my trackbar
bushings are worn out, but the rear shocks, just keep on smiling .

#287 ·
I would love to run some reservior shocks, yours are Saaaweeeeet! Maybe in the future, but I just ordered some Nitro's because I was also saving cash for 4 of these:

I just recieved them today from www.crawlerready.com, one of the vendors on this site. Tyler is great to work with!

Still waiting for parts...My shocks are on back-order, and Surco sent me the wrong brackets for the roof rack. They were super cool about it though and shipped the new ones out today. It will give the light install a clean look.

That's sweet! I would love to have a higher performance radiator. It run a bit warmer than I would like when I am towing the four wheelers up the canyon.

Do you know how many cores the radiator will have? What material will it be made of?

#291 · (Edited)
The new radiator will be built out of aluminum it could have 2 rows but at this
time I'm not sure, I made the templet with a 1''7/8 thick core just to see if a
core that thick will fit'' and it does.
The bad news is that it's only a 4.0 radiator, the 5.2 radiator inlet and outlet
are reversed from the pics I've seen, so I dont thank it will work for the 5.2
motors. Is the inlet on your radiator on the top lefthand side ? as your facing
the front looking at your motor, passenger side.

#292 ·
IIRC, the inlet is on the drivers side.

Well, I am officially SICK of having brake light, running light, and blinker issues with my tail lights. I ordered a set of LED lights off of Ebay. I love the look of 00JGC00's lights (a member on JF) on the white WJ, so I bought the same style....he will be credited with inspiration kudos.

Yeah, I heard. That sucks, hopefully yours is running again soon. Did Rich get his JK taken care of?
