The stock exhaust on a 5.2 is 2.5 inches right? Is it worth the money and will it make any real difference to change over to 3 inch pipe with a new cat and muffler? or am i better off just changing out the muffler and cat and leaving the stock pipe?

i am still doing the front to rear, i started last night, got one of the front coils on, haha.... but i forgot to put the bumpstop back in, but i have the other front started, getting those things on there isnt easy, mine were 3.5's too, and they are long, i am going to try to finish the front this afternoon when i get off of work, your welcome to come down and look at how i am doing mine if you want, i live in waveland off waveland ave, 342-0421,

well, maybe if you get that welder fired up soon, i go back to school on the 10th, i think i am actually going to be putting my lift on next weekend too, i want to get it done before i go back, the exhaust is on the back burner for now with school costs, but maybe i can swing it, thanks for the suggestion

it will "sound" cool and give a little better umph in high and midrange rpm (highway passing speeds) but, you will lose some torque value( 4wheeling no no). after switching to 3", i noticed a little mushyness in low rpm second gear..... what i mean is....... now, it has a little trouble deciding whether to go 2nd or 3rd at a mild speed of about 35-40mph and a little less snappy in that range unless overdrive is disabled. crawling needed a little more weight on the peddle...

i can't notice it anymore because of time, but did immediately after the change-over. but mostly it just sounds good to me. no real "noticeable" improvements. maybe im just not observant. i'd still do it again if i could just because i hate the way a stock zj sounds like a wind up toy.
