Actually it's funny because when the neighbors are outside they'll normally come over and ask what I'm working on. I've meet a lot of people that build or have built muscle cars and lots of people that have owned old Jeeps (CJ-7's and 5's, and even a couple guys that used to own Willie's).

But, then again, I have people who come over and try and talk to me. I'll tell them what I'm working on and can immediately tell that everything I just told them is completely over their heads, but, they still try and play it off like they know what I'm talking about. meh...

Sorry Maxx, not everyone can afford an auto darkening mask. Lol. They are a blast though. Way easier but not really worth it if your not gonna be welding all the time imo. Personally I only use them when tig welding but then again theres a lot more going on with tig than you have with mig anyway. Just a waste of money to me when all I gotta do is flip the mask down.

No way..auto darkening is SO nice to have..then i know exactly where the gun is pointed and dont have to worry if it moves and then i have to flip up my mask..

wes, show me your gas line from your tank to your welder, setup please

Didnt say it wasnt nice to have I just said its not worth the money/practical, IMO. That being said, I've been welding for a good 5+ years. Im used to having a mask that isnt auto darkening so I've gotten good at not moving/knowing where the gun is at. I really dont need auto darkening unless tig welding really, and thats only because I have to hold the rod in my other hand. I suppose for newbs like you though Maxx its a good thing to have [smilie=nana.gif] Haha, just messin dude.

You know that old saying, "Measure twice, cut once." Yeah well, I tend to mess up regardless of how many times I measure.... I ended up welding on the 9" UCA Truss not even close to even. I don't know what possessed me, but I welded it directly over the pumpkin. Needless-to-say, the pumpkin is not centered on the axle. *SLAPS SELF IN FACE*. So I had to backtrack and grind off the truss so I could weld on the Spring perches. I'm gonna try and finish up all the brackets on the 9" tomorrow. Oh.... and this is my workspace.

Perches are welded on at 13*. I'm trying to eliminate any kind of vibes.

Maxx, this is for you.

I've officially run out of space in my apartment. I have boxes everywhere. So much in fact that I don't even have the space to store my suspension pieces. It's over at my girlfriends place in her basement closet.

This must mean you are pretty serious with her...That is a high level of trust.

Start putting parts in your bathroom, I took apart/put together my 231 all on the bathroom floor so managment would stop yelling at me for using my balcony as a workplace.

Sounds to me like you just gotta clear out all of your cupboards in the kitchen.
Eating utensils < Jeep parts
You know what's funny?..... I have jeep parts in the pantry, and under my bathroom sink.

you could install those Warn Locking hubs on the 44 couldnt you? That would get rid of one box anyway.
I gotta finish pulling the 44 apart first.... I'm gonna try and break it down sometime this week. I'm taking the 9" third member and the 44 housing to the local shop to have the gears set.
