Those are hard to come by

They used to be made by a dealer in California, but they are no longer in production. Your best bet will be to keep searching e-bay and places like this. Good luck! i ended up buying one of Kevin's rackz and putting the spare up on the roof. It's not that bad getting it up and down, considering how little I'd have to use it.

Thanks for the info. I have though about throwing my spare up on the rack, but my zj just sqeaks into the garage now and there's no way it would fit with the spare up there.

I have seen a model where the spare mounts to a 2" post and slides in the receiver, but then you wouldn't be able to open/close the door/window too easily. The prefect solution is a tomken rear bumper and swing out carrier, but I don't have $1000 lying around right now...

I called them awhile back

They told me I was out of luck. There is another company that makes a similar one, but I can't remember the name. VETRO, I think.

Yep, it is VETRO. I went and saw them, since they are here in Vancouver, WA. Very nice carrier. It is much higher quality than the Donavee, but I paid half as much for the Donavee as Vetro wants for theirs. I would say their carrier is worth the $399 retail, but I decided on the cheaper Donavee, as I planned on a TR bumper and carrier later.

There contact info is:
Vetro Inc.,
1800 West 4th Plain Blvd., 101 A ,
Vancouver, WA 98660
1-800-758-6114

I sold my Donavee a few months ago, as I was going to sell the ZJ, but ended up not, so I am need of a tire carrier again. I may Vetro up and see if I can get a Group buy going on them to get the price down.

I've been searching for a Donavee as well..could be interested in the group buy on the Vetro if they bring the price down any.

The Vetro one is very similar to the mopar one. I have the mopar one and it really doesn't like carrying that 33 around.

Hey Skkiinns - How are those 32's doing on your ZJ with Rustys coils? Any issues? Looks like we have about the same set up and I was thinking of going with 32s as well.

PS - The Vetro is a very nice unit. I had a chance to see one up close. I'd buy one if it were a little cheaper.

Hey Mikey, the 32"s are awesome, I get some mild rubbing when flexing or at a full turn, but it hasn't been a problem at all. I did add longer upper and lower CAs in the rear to push the axle back a bit, making a little more room in front of the tires and the wheel well.

You obviously aren't running big tires!! It can get tricky with 6 lights, hilift, shovel and trying to get a 33 out of there. I cant wait to see how much fun a 35 is going to be....

yeah, search on ebay and you will find a couple models that attach to the rack. i have also seen a model that uses the 2" receiver hitch or a mount, but that might be in the way when accessing the rear door...

any news on the group buy from VETRO???? Anyone???

Does anyone have any other pictures for this one? I too would be very interested in a group buy and need one shortly. Wish I had the money to buy the whole bumper setup, and can't wait to see Kevins latest, but this looks promising. Please keep us advised of the group buy thing.

Oh Yeah, man would it be nice if Kaymar made one for the ZJ. I really like the products they have for other vehicles. You can see them at www.arb.com.au

I woud be insterested in a group buy also as long as it works on a WJ! I have the Wilderness rook rack now with the tire carrier, high lift, shovel, ax etc., but with 8" of total lift and 33" tires, it takes two of us to get the tire up there and then only when I'm off-road and not in the garage!! Maybe if I wasn't an old fart, I could do it by myself?

Valley also makes a rear swing carrier, I lucked out and got mine NEW off Ebay for $40! It's kinda pretty strong too in the way that is mounted. Mine ties into the hitch passenger side mounts and to the drivers side bumper it includes a mounting plate for there. but from what I hear they are discontinued also...
