that radiator skid is what I really like... seems not many available WJ bumpers do a good job of that... how thick is the skid?

Not sure but it feels like it weighs about 25-30lbs. I think its as thick as the bumper.
The whole bumper weighs 160lbs.

Mine has 3 bolts at the top into the bumper and welded to the skid are 2 brackets that bolt to the bumper brackets.

Thats something about the bumper that I do like is that skid. Im thinking about trying to fab something like that to attach to my ARB, maybe a little higher up though as it looks like it might hit alot of rocks

What? :D

That's what a skid is for. Sliding over the rocks, and keeping those rocks off of your vital parts. Hence the name "SKID PLATE", knuckle head... :D

You really need to go take your rig off-road. Before you do that though, look up under the front of your rig. See all those hoses, and the radiator cross-member, steering components etc.? That's what you need to protect. Some experience will help ya there. Then you would be able to understand the beauty of DieHard's nice new bumper... :D

Yea, because I want a skid plate that hangs low and drags over EVERYTHING, rather than a skid plate that is up high, protecting everything and only being beat on when a rock comes up that high. Your idea that you are a god among men when it comes to wheeling is a joke really :)

I don't know about most you guys but when I approach and obstacle I have NEVER gone straight at it where the Radiator support would get messed up. Tires first. Hey AGRANDADDICTION, expedition vehicle? Got some undiscovered country where you are? Make sure to take Sacajawea with you and say hi to Clark for me.

Thats correct, but why chance sliding off a rock and coming down on that lower part? I didn't mean to smack mine but look at the pic of the skid and you can see the dent in mine.
And if you are going through some water you may not see that rock. tree stump etc.

Man i love that bumper! Looks great! How bout some more pics of that dubya?
