My list

Now that it is warmer. I was able to check over my rig last weekend

I took off Kevin's sliderz to repaint

I have just ordered
- Currie's Drag link and tie rod
- Kevins' Track Barz conversion with new track bar

Also need to extract a broken bolt from the rear sway bar bushing mount ( excuse me, I do like to run sway bars for the long trip down to VA )

- possibly replace the radiator pre-GSE also.

10 more weekends before GSE 03 .

Let's see

1. New tires.....got them.
2. New adjustable control arms....got them.
3. Radiator......got it

GSsince93, why would you ever take the sliderz off to repaint them? Just some tape and newspaper and krylon.

i thought taking off the sliderz kinda f'ed their strength seeing it is all self tapping bolts, i personally like the whole "what paint on the cladding?" technique when you just deny that there is a large black spot on the pretty cladding. Ne ways no longs, moneys just to tight for that so its an arb instead

Well, I think I just dug myself into a real deep hole this close to GSE.

I just put 35's on and I have stock axles/gears. I don't know what I was thinking but I hope i have the time and money to get the axles before GSE, I doubt it though.

Heheheh. Between ALL the vehicles running stock axles they should have just enough spares to support you

J/K. I think you will be fine. Anything can be done with care. Just don't be hesitant to take a strap or cable now and then instead of going for it.

The 44a should hold up at least if you have a later V8 model....

Edit: whoops -- nevermind, I see you have the 35C. Get a couple sets of spares if no axle swap by then....

I didn't do a good job the 1st time..... The upper area , where they touch the rock panel, is starting to rust. I don't want it to spread.

Other stuff:
Calibrate my TPS
Repaint the OME-SD40 - rusting...black ;)

Sure you can install at the campground, but u should paint it first. I have just spent the last few weekends re-paint and re-install them. Do it right the 1st time, so you don't need to redo it like I did

I just installed the Currie HD draglink and tie rod two weeks ago.. Very beefy, highly recommend !

Does putting gas in the tank and washing it count as Mods?

Plan to Do:
DONE 33x12.50 TSL's so my rig gets mistaken for Beerman's even more often
DONE Adjustable Front LCA's
DONE Spacer & Bumpstop Tweaking
90% DONE Fender Trimming
Well, I am mostly done...only fooling with minor stuff between now and the event. Plan on showing up 100%, I hate wheeling with a bunch of little nagging stuff left undone. I may try to do a K&N intake and charcoal canister relocation between now and then.

How often do you guys wheel?

Are these mods everyone's rushing to do, just part of a continuing program of regular wheeling and mod upgrades or is GSE it?

(for some reason this second half of the message didn't appear the first time I posted it... so here it is again  )

Personally, I'd really like to hit the trail at least once a month, but it seems like I get out wheeling much less often than that, and I know I make a lot fewer mods than I want to.

Fred: Alot of my pre-GSE mods are mods I want/need to do anyway, but knowing that following Clayton is gonna be alot tougher than my usual 'wheelin regiment, I try like heck to get my upgrades finished beforehand. This year is going to be insanely stressful, my D44 is still sitting down at Clayt's shop totally stripped with no brackets, and I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to afford the gears, realbeadlocks and all the misc. brake components needed to complete the axle. Unless a miracle occurs, it looks like I'm gonna be the carnage king running a D30 with my 36" SX's

BTW: I go 'wheelin locally at least once a week.

I have so much junk to do and not enough time or $. Right now I have a bare 8.8 in my garage w/ just the coil buckets welded on. Still need to buy steel and fab up mounts and get those welded on. Looks like I'm gonna be running a LS in the 8.8.....no $ to lock it now. Shoot, I still need to register and pay for GSE.

Hmmm... 36's and the ole D30 huh? It'll be interesting, particularly since I'm running a D30, but only 33's. Anyway Tracey, if worse came to worst, if we could snag a trailer somewhere, I could get you back, that's if I'm still roadworthy. I wouldn't mind going on to NH. But lets not even think of that possibility for now.

Meanwhile, I sure wish I could wheel weekly. Unfortunately around my neck o' the woods, there are great rock piles everywhere and NOTHING is legal. :(

CYA soon amigo.

I went there and don't see anything specifically for a ZJ, is it:
CE-9701 Currie Enterprises HEAVY DUTY TIE ROD SYSTEM $399.95 ?

Not that I ahve $400 to shell out at the moment, but did you have to order a custom one?
