Yes, I searched ... for almost an hour actually, just looking thru differant threads ...

I'm sure my upstream o2 sensor needs to be replaced. My question is this: Does anyone have problems fitting the Bosch UPSTREAM o2 sensor, or is that just a problem they have with the DOWNSTREAM?

Normally I'd just buy a Mopar but I just called the 2 dealerships that are even remotly close and they both said $102!@$ I saw some people only paid like $52 for the same part from Mopar ... Stealerships ... It's true ya know ...

So is it worth paying the extra $40-50 for the mopar one?

Doesnt your ZJ only have one O2 sensor? I need to replace mine as well, and I only saw one.

Ya, OBDI only has one o2 sensor. It's still called the "upstream" isn't it though?

So has anyone with OBDI that has replaced their o2 sensor with bosch have any fitment or other problems? All I could seem to find was what sounded like OBDII people complaining about the dowstream fitment ...

I replaced the upstream sensor in my '96 5.2 last week. First, I bought a Bosch at $50, but when I noticed that the connector wasn't quite the same as the original and needed to be "modified" to fit, I put it back in the box and returned it. The sensor from a dealer was twice as expensive, but if Bosch couldn't even get the connector right, why should I have confidence in their ability to build the rest of the sensor to spec?

FYI: I replaced mine last week with a NTK (NGK company) which was a perfect fit. no probs. well the only problem would be the $90.00 CDN. spent on it.

isnt $90 CDN like $30 USA...... hook your brothers to the south up

dont go bosch

Stay away from the Bosch!! I tried several of them and the only O2 sensor that will work properly is the factory Mopar. Trust me, both of the Bosch sensors I installed caused it to run rich BAD. As soon as I added the factory one, the problem went away..

I'm using Bosch sensors with no problems. Cheap and easily available. Most parts stores have the wrong part numbers in stock. Look at your plug, and make sure it's the same before you buy the O2 sensor. If it's the wrong style plug, get an O2 sensor from an earlier/later year with the correct plug. It's not Bosch's fault the damn plug doesn't fit, its the parts stores that have it wrong.

So you're saying that it's the parts store that issues the parts numbers to Bosch, not the other way around.

Bosch MAKES the right connector and O2 sensor, but the parts stores sell you the wrong parts. It doesn't matter who's fault it is, it's no reason not to by a sensor just because you have to actually get off your @ss and look at what style plug you've got. It's still easier and cheaper than buying through a dealership.
