The gear ratios for the lockers refer to the carrier. Be sure you get the riggt one so it fits. What locker are you looking at? I wouldn't personally buy a locker from kRustys as they may be over priced (third party)
Depending on locker STYLE determines on road behavior, as well as front vs rear. Both?
LOCKERS
Selectable lockers $$$
ARB: air locker requires air source can buy kit for 900+ each. This can be turned off on road not effecting road manners.
Ox: Is a gear actuated locker on and off roughly same price
Auburn eccted: "É"-lectric locker. Same as other two, $$
You will pay for selectability for sure.
Full time lockers - not great for up front on a dd
Detroit: stout design been around like all full time lockers you need to change your driving a tad. I would drift a lifted grand any ways. Basically ease into turns if you gas you'll churp the tires. I wouldn't put one up front especially a DD.
Spool: deletes carrier no give always locked probably not good for dd.
Lincoln: weld spider gears for free and wala traction time. Rear only probably not for you.
Lunch box lockers
Allows ratcheting through turns to save tires. 200-350
Lockright/powertrax: cheap works on road ok kinda noisey good bang for buck.
Aussie: best of class same style stronger perhaps.
Probably didn't Describe enough you should get the jist though.
