How do you identify a 42re vs 42rh tranny

I know it is junk but its all i have for right now, but my haynes manual has different torque specs for adjusting the bands. I have never adjusted bands so i dont want to screw up the wifes DD :???: She has a 98 zj w/ 4.0L 249j tc. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I can see how they could make the mistake. The 42RH is just a weaker version of the 46RH which was used behind the V8s and has the same number of gears and torque rating as the 42RE.
