I have some stupid problems popping up and I'm hoping they may be all related.

It started by my fob dying. So I got new batteries, it worked for a day and then died again.

Also when I open the drivers door about 70% of the time the lights do not come on nor do all the door unlock, which I have it set to do.

I'm assuming the second issue (lights and locks) are because of some malfuction in the handle itself. Does this mean I need to replace the whole handle or is there something inside of it that can be replaced?

Then back to the fob issue. Where is the reciever for the fob? Could it be related to the second problem? I'm not ready to say the fob is dead and not the reciever, especially if it could be related issues.

Sorry for the ramble, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

The reciever is the small black ball at the rear of the overhead console.

Sounds like two separate problems.

My 94 FOB did the exact same thing. Went dead, got new battery, worked for a day, then died again. It would work every now and then after that. It turned out there was a cold solder joint inside the FOB. I worked for an electronics shop at the time, and one of the solderers fixed it. It was a small job. They used a tiny iron and a 10x magnifier to do it, but it can be done with the naked eye. Been working for 2 years now.

Edit:
Not sure about the reciever location in your WJ. Sorry.
