Well now that I have your attention.

I have searched the forums and have found some info on this, but nobody ever gets back with positive feedback.
I found a fried 5.9 in the local JY and have taken claim to the hood and grill for my 5.2. I am also looking at taking the alt as I will soon be getting a winch and an optima yellow top.
I have read that the alt will fry the wiring on a 5.2 as it is a lower grade. I am useless with electronics so don't shoot me if I sound clueless here.
I have read on here from a circa 2004 post that if you use 2 wires that run to the positive post on the battery from the alternator it will be fine as this will compensate for the extra power surging through the single wire on the 5.2. Is this true or would I need to upgrade other wiring on the 5.2? I already have a electric fan from a 5.9 on here, and I have some delta tech 250 driving lights along with 4x100w roof lights. Plus I live in the middle east so the AC is constantly on in the summer, and most of the time during the "winter".
So will I be fine straight swapping the alts or will I need to upgrade anything on this first?

I run a 98 5.2 by the way.

Cheers :D

Is there any way to tell if they are the same? I took a look today at the 5.9 one, and the serial number on it was the same as my 5.2 alt!

Unless they are the same model with a different output rating, what do you reckon?

Cheers. ;)

you got it. look at the part numbers and since they are the same you have the 136A alt. your set to go. now the dodge ram and ram vans could get a 150/160A alt but that is just over kill. and unless yours is acting up i would leave it alone.
