Does anyone have any input on the OME HD spring lift? I've seen several threads but no solid answers. My questions are:

- Is it gonna get me 1.5" or 2" or 2.5"?? Varying opinions out there.
- Is the HD spring kit still a smooth ride or does it get rough?
- Are the OME N111/N117 shocks right for those springs?
- Tire size - such a controversial question it seems. I will be ON ROAD ONLY and have read I could fit up to a 32 without any issues...ON ROAD ONLY. I really wanna put the JK Sahara 255/70R18 setup on there.

- Last thing, this is my DD so spare me the comments on being a sissy. My XJ with 6" lift on 33's is my toy!!!

Free bump, I'm curious about this too. What size tires can you fit with them? and the only place i could find that had HD OME coils was Rocky road. Anybody know a better place to get them? - not to thread hijack.

ZJs and WJs are obviously different, but on my ZJ I had the OME HD kit. I netted 1.5". There are differing opinions on lift height because most poeple are replacing worn out saggy stock springs. I think 1.5 is a good average.

As for tires, 31s fit on mine with only minor trimming of the front bumper cover. 32s IMO would be pushing it.

The ride from the HD springs was still much better than stock.

I run the OME HD Springs and the OME shocks. I am tempted to go higher, but I love the way it rides right now. When I put my JK rims and 32's on there it was fine, but I did have a little rubbing in the rear. So I added 3/4" spacers to it and beat the pinch seam down. Now I have no clearence issues.

BUT: I do have a ARB front bumper, so you may have some clearence issues in the front that I didn't have.

I just installed the HD OME springs on my 02 WJ + RE monotube shocks (Kolak) I put a set of takeoff Rubicon wheels and stock BFG KM's (Craigslist)

The springs are about the same length but are heavier coils and don't compress as much as stock. That's how you get the lift. I have a 20" Hub to fender measurement (+2" from stock)

I have some rubbing on the front and trimmed a little. More is needed for off road and I think a mod to the bump-stops will be needed to complete the job.

No wheel spacers used and the tires (255/75/17) don't rub the rear shocks or control arms on the street. I haven't had it out wheeling yet.

The ride is firm but I like it. Stock it was a Caddy now it's still smooth on the hwy and street but firmer. With the extra sidewall height it rides fine.

It looks GREAT and if you put those Sahara wheels/tires you will have to trim the front as well. Not a big deal especially for street only (mostly). Gives the WJ some attitude!

I did notice it is not a peppy off the line and especially around 60-65. You will need to kick it down for passing more often than stock. My spedo is off about 7mph @ 70 but the hwy mileage seams about equal.

Took about 4.5 hours by myself with a floor jack and jack stands, no spring compressor. IOR Spring retainers (not needed for street), BPE (I like the newer version better), KOR WJ Shock kit (not reall needed depending on shocks + I added 2 7/16 fender washers on each face to pre load the top shock bush.) I already had the Addco rear bar and with the lift + tires you will need it for the street.

You may want to add a front spacer if you want it to sit level.

I have the OME HD coils and I LOVE them. I think mine were advertised as 3" and I got about 3.5". The ride is definately stiffer than stock, but it doesn't bother me. I have mine paired with the Teraflex 2" budget boost and I was able to fit 33"s with some minor front bumper trimming.

Ome hd

I think what you need to figure out is what lift you need for fitting those tires. There is an 1.25 OME coils and shocks, and then there is about 3.5-4" OME coils and shocks( long travel). I did a F>R a while back. I have a 4.0. So it is and aftermarket coil for front-3.5 and then got the v8 ome coils for rear. There is a difference between the v8 and l6 front springs. v8 is heavier so the coils are slight longer and stiffer. I also have the long travel OME shocks. I believe it the OME40 NL and OME39NL. As a coil comparison OME is slightly stiffer generally speaking, but it fits my driving style-aggressive-i need the truck to respond and not lean in the corners like a pre-runner. It's what you need bottom line. Fitting 32' w less that 3" is pushing it even on the street. you'll feel it every time you get into/off your driveway, or every time you go over a speed bump. Unless you want to be like those kids with the lowered scions and civics that drive 2mph and funny angles cuz they too low. Make sure that you have the correct offset on the rims, otherwise it will rub on your front control arms before full turn
