I run a 3" all the way back. Cut out the crushed area of the y-pipe (collector?) and replaced. 3" from there back to a 3" magnaflow cat, and then into a 3" tube style muffler. It's all I could wedge in between the triangulated 4 link, and it's not as quiet as I would have liked, but it's not completely rediculous sounding.

Well, after reading the new (1/1/09) California law, you can't purchase/install a converter based purely on GVW, or pipe diameter. That being said, if you can find someone that will sell you a 41409 Magnaflow, that is a California, OBDII, 3" converter. Summit may sell you one, or just go to your local auto parts store with the part #, most of them won't know exactly how the new law reads.

Good luck.

Not sure what you mean? So I can't buy it from muffler shop, but however, if I buy it from auto part a 3" OBDII, I can get it installed & still pass smog, is it right?
But the muffler guy said smog check shop are required to check on the cat converter size. Is it true?
I already have a 2.5" magnaflow, & un-kink y pipe does 3" really make a difference?

I'm not sure you'll actually see much of a difference unless you have other stuff done to the engine. As far as passing the sniffer test, yes the 3" converter passes with flying colors. Most smog shops that I've delt with will look to see if the cat is stock looking and if the part # on the cat is legal in California. The smog tech would have to be kind of a prick to actually look and see if that part # was legal for use on your vehicle.

All of that being said, if you have a regular mechanic that does smogs, you shouldn't have a problem since he will know that you aren't an undercover car trying to catch shops cheating.

God I hate California sometimes!!

Testing my SwayLoc on Mottino trail in Big Bear, It's actully harder than Rubicon trail, but quite a bit shorter.
The tipping control is great & you still get a lot of flex!

By the way, I always thought the bar around the ARB front bumper is a useless piece of dead weight. I even though about cutting them off to save weight.
But on Mottino trail, one of the sharp rock hit the bar so hard it made a deep scretch on the passenger side of the bar & you can see them on the pics. If not because of the bar, my passenger side headlight & signal would have been gone, alone with some body damage.

Went to Big Bear Forest Fest last weekend.
I did a night run & day run at John Bull trail. John Bull has a lot of big rock but round. The Mottino Trail I did a months ago are all sharp rocks. Both are the black diamond trail in Big Bear. I bended the hi steer tie rod by hitting a rock during the night run. If I would still had the Currie y steer set up, it would be a disaster tow truck ending. So it's a bitter sweet experience.

These are a few of the pics someone e-mailed me. If and only if I can get my wife to get out of the car and take some pics for me.

I actually look forward to your updates. Every time they are something new and that swayloc setup is incredible! It seems pretty straight forward as in install. Does it come with the weld on brackets or are those custom made and sleeved?

I was told by my tire store that my shocks are bad from the wear pattern.
I only have those MX6 for a year! Any suggestion on more durable shocks?
