I think what I might try to do is install the bumper, take a picture of it and then try changing the color with photoshop or something before actually changing anything. That way I can see what I like. Any photoshop or Gimp experts here that can show me how to do that?

Sounds like a good plan, but to change the bumper from black to white and have it look right in Photoshop will be pretty hard. It's easy to make something that's white, black, but not something that's black, white.

I can doing any photoshopping you want though, PM me if you need something.

Thanks. I'll probably take you up on that offer. I would like to get photoshop myself since I'm starting to play around with digital photography but everywhere I've looked, it's horribly expensive.

Can you photoshop a V8 under the hood of mine? Only if I get the performance out of it though haha. I would think for it to look right with the rest of the rig you would have to do some decent paint work, or were you just going to rattle can it? Wouldnt be hard to match up the shades for it to blend right. I think it would look pretty neat actually, its something different. If and when I ever paint mine ill do my bumpers as well, make it really snazzy

Hmmm, don't know about photoshopping a V8. If it were possible, I think I would try it. I have thought about maybe buying a wrecked V8 ZJ and swapping everything over to this one but that's a lot of work. Not sure the few extra ponies are worth it.

I do have a compressor and all the paint guns, etc, so it wouldn't be a rattle can job. I have painted a few cars so I sort of know what I'm doing. Just not sure how it would look. I just would hate to go through all the prep and paint work only to decide I don't like it. I think what I might do is just leave it black and eventually get a steel back bumper in black to match.

Looks great! What lights did you go with?

Sweet rig! I am jealous.
Thanks!

Don't you even think about painting that white! Black looks so good on the white zj's ;)
I agree. I'm thinking I'll eventually get something to match for the back. The wife got hold of my CC bills though and figured out how much I have in it so far. Needless to say, the project is sort of on hold for a while!

(at least she's not making me sleep in it!)

Thanks! I have KC Daylighters on the front and the ones on top are the "Brand X" lights that KOR sells. Haven't hooked the top ones up yet. I used the leads from the stock foglights for the front but changed them so they come on with the high beams instead of low beams.

I've been drooling over your avatar for a while now, so I decided to read your build thread... very nice, man! What did you use to attach the lights and shovel? You got close-up pics?
I got a roof mount spare tire carrier from Kevin's Off Road and just ordered the option for the jack and axe/shovel mounts. Light bar was from them too.

Pretty simple setup really. The only downside is that 33" tire and steel wheel are really heavy to try to pick up and put on the roof mount. I just didn't want to put it on the back where it blocked my rear vision but it sure would have been easier to handle. Now I just need to find some sort of axe - shovel combination (something that looks like it belongs up there and not "Sears garden tools") so I can put my other shovel back in the shed. :)

Hm... that's easy enough... thanks, man!

Hey, what's the size of that shovel clamp? I may have that w/ a rubber coating if you're interested...
Hey, no problem. Not sure what size the clamp is. Looks like something from the electrical section of a hardward store. I'm not worried about the rubber coating. It's just a cheap shovel but thanks anyway! What I want to find is some sort of axe/pick/shovel combination (interchangeable ends?). I remember seeing something like that once but now I can't find it.

Ouch! My wifey surprisingly supports my habit to an extent haha. I think if I told her tomorrow I wanna do an Atlas or Stak and some bealocks she would probably laugh at me and say "no." Ive already spent WAAAAAY too much on my rig, not necessarily the axle swap but mainly because I cant make up my mind and I do one thing and then decide I should have done another, then I do the other and then im broke. Go figure! Looks great though man

Thanks! Yeah, my wife thought all I was going to do was the lift and bigger tires. "Those are just going to cost a couple hundred dollars, right?" "Uh, yeah Honey, that's all!" Uh huh, right. So far I have her somewhat agreeing with me that I do need to change the gears (I told her I would probably burn out the trans if I didn't change the gears) and put the 8.8 in the back but "That's it, period! No more!" (other than the little things I can sneak in under the radar).

I'd love to but I still have the stock Dana 35c out back and I'm afraid to push my luck. I've been sticking to the easy trails in the GWNF for now. Hopefully, I'll have it done by the next Big Dogs run though.

HAHA, That tactic used to work for me but once she started learning whats what on a rig and how it all works I was kinda sol, but she has yet to say no to something so lets keep wishing!
