Which suspension lift kit would you buy if i gave you the money?

I have no issues with Rusty's...jst weld on it a bit after install. What I think is really odd is that 5 ass clowns voted for a short arm kit over a long arm kit..WTF?

I'll take the worst long arm over any short arm anyday.

any opinions on rustys springs? i have the claytons arms but i want to move from 5 inches to seven. can i use rustys 5.5 springs and my spacers? (i know how to add 5 and 2 to = 7, im asking if his springs are good enough)

edit: i just looked at iron rock offroad. im diggin their 7 inch springs and the Doetsch Tech 8000 shocks. opinions please!!

Rusty's springs are soft, I had them. I now have Clayton's 7" springs and like them way more. What's the price comparison with them and Iron Rock?

claytons springs are $340

i cant load iron rocks page right now but iirc they were like $260

rustys springs with my bb spacers $280

RE kit, hmmmm....
I had it for exactely one year, got 2 bad front track bar busching, 2 broken or loose bolt on the control arms, 1 broken sway bar pin bolt and many poor customer service stories.
I only wheeled the car 3 times in the last year.
Other than that, it's a very nice looking kit.

I don't know anything about the IRO springs but what I do know about my Clayton springs is that they are worth the money. With all the crap I have bolted on my Jeep right now, I STILL have tons of room for my 35's to move around in the wheel wells as if I had stock bumpers and no rock sliders. No sag here.

a few people were talking about how they didnt like rustys cross member but i have been looking at his kit for a while (i had to buy a new engine so it set the lift back a while) anyway he now has a 2 bolt or 4 bolt option for the cross member, maybe it is a new design that allows for the removal of the TC or tranny without taking the arms off... does anyone know for sure?

Doubt it, its probably just more reinforcement since everyone criticized it for being a weak design. Its not a weak design really, its about all he could have done without welding the plates in which would have cut out most of the market.

i agree. no one has complained about rustys arms. you can upgrade the cross member later if you want to. i have the clayton kit, and his cross member would be a great upgrade to rustys kit. i also have claytons skidplate and i recomend it to anyone that is serious about wheeling at a less than mile high lift.

i agree. i just looked at that kit. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. it includes everything, but its all medium to low quality. buy a good brand 3 inch lift perhaps and add spacers on top. disconectable swaybars, eventually long arms. dont skimp on shocks unless you plan to go higher because you'd just waste money.

You and I both. Ah, but I have to remember, I'm married with children now. That and probably old enough to be that girl's father! [smilie=1cry1.gif]

Oh well, seriously though, I have to admit I'm seriously thinking about Rusty's 5.5LA kit. I can't weld and don't know anybody locally who can so the bolt-on part appeals to me. It seems like a good starting point anyway and like some here, the kit can be added on to and improved as budget allows. I was thinking about the RE 3.5" SA but I think the Jeep bug is biting me harder than I thought. Must go BIGGER!

I noticed in your thread it was your DD. You sure you want to take a DD to a LA with 33-35's? The BB is a great choice for the price and ride to get the aggressive look and ride offroad that some desire. Just a thought ;)
