hey ill try to make it but i dont know if i can, if u guys go have a blast and try not to break many things!! :D

So does this mean you will not be using the lead foot approach?

I have been busy since I got back. Too many things too little time. I will get the shaft done sometime. It's still in the back of the Jeep in the bag Scott gave me. I thought I was going to have to break it out last Thursday. I had to go help a friend that was stuck in Randolph with two broken ball joints (the wheel fell off). I was able to get to him in two wheel though. Gotta love that trash-loc.

That sucks about the windshield! How did the wife take it?

Use the lead foot approach, who me?

She can still drive it so she did not really care about the windshield, I on the other hand am pissed about it. Time to get some kind of flap for the back of the truck. Scott G. just got a set of 36x12.50 bias TSLs and a he has an Atlas 3.8 on it's way for the TJ.

Man, Scott keeps throwing money into that thing. It pays off when it can go anywhere. A friend just got an old Xj to use as a toy. I get to build it. His money.... trailer only. Fun. I need to get my driveshaft fixed.

Randolph on the 21st

To those that think they will make it out to Randolph on the 21st.
I just wanted to let you know our club has some requirements to join us on a run. They are as follows.

Front and rear tow hooks should be properly mounted to the frame with grade-eight bolts. Drawbars or receiver hitches are acceptable as an alternative to rear tow hooks.

All open-topped vehicles, including older models (CJs, Scramblers, and Willys), must have mandatory roll bars.

A full-size spare tire. In case of puncture, a space-saver spare (donut) won't do.

If your Jeep does not have the mandatory equipment, you will be turned away at the trailhead.

Thanks, I hope to see you guys out there.

Scott

A few of us from the Wichita area are planning a trip to Tuttle Creek this Saturday July 13. Maybe a couple of ZJ's with us(ZJMike?, Mike G?) Post if you are interested in join us.
And nobody will be turned away or left behind!

What's the question mark there for? :D Of course I'm in!

I'm hoping that brian's TJ will be done by then so he can take it up there too, but they said that it will probably be dont on Friday so I don't know if he will want to take it out so soon.

So is the plan just to meet at Dirk's at 9 o'clock as usual?

My wife and I were thinking about joining you all going up to Tuttle Creek. Can someone give me a call so I know how to get to Dirk's. Number is (316)648-8163. We would follow you all up there of course, but we would like to ride shotgun on the trail. I can't drive a trail right now because I am still recovering from back surgery, but my wife has never been on a trail, so this would be a great experience for her.

It is just north of Manhattan. If you take 24 north of Manhattan you will find it. 24 turns into 77. Tuttle Creek ORV.. there is a sign to turn left onto Cardiner Road. Then left onto a gravel road...

Hello, another one from KS

Hey,

Just found this thread. I live in Eudora, Ks, which is about 5 min East of Lawrence. Just got my WJ about a month ago so still pretty stock, but give me some time. I am glad to see some Grands in the area. Luvgrndcherokees, I would recommend joining a local club. KC Jeep Club is a good size club in the KC area.

Hope you guys had fun this weekend,
Ben

i have been on a trip with the kc club before. but w cant afford the membership cost for now. but i would love to be a member and go 4 wheelin with them but i cant. By the way, what are you planning on doing to your grand? chris

Right now I am thinking a Tera 4" lift with some Goodyear MT/R's.
Some parts from Kevin and a few other things. I am going to stay mild with this one, because I have a '48 CJ2A that is going to be the beater.

Their is also a group of Jeepers in the Lawrence area that go wheeling with each other. You can check out our yahoo site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Rivercityjeepers/
The site is very rarely updated, but a good way to get a hold of me.
