Hey guys, i got a quick question for you all. If i have a 44 front and 60 rear and I want to run 37's, could i get away with 4" of lift, some bb's and triming the fenders as much as possible. I'm trying to keep this thing as low as I possibly can, I don't want it to sit high. Even with that said 4" still not enough? I'm worried to purchase 4" then try everything possible and still not work.

I'm running 37's with about 4.5" over stock height. Of course, I've done some MAJOR trimming - so that will be the key to keeping it low and running that size tire. The axles don't come into play until you start looking at up travel vs. ride height

I was about 5" or so with 37's, but again lots of trimming. My current rig is 44/60 with 6" and I think I could fit 37's pretty easily if I wanted to....but I don't like breaking axles so I plan to stay on 35's.

I think 4" is doable, but would take some good trimming and fine tuning of the suspension to get everything to fit as it should.

Yeah i would like 35's, but i'm not sure i would have the clearance i would need for some stuff we do. Plus i know where a set of 37's are cheap laying in my back yard. Thanks for the answers guys!

I run 35" with long arms with front & rear metal bumpers.
I got bunch of body cracks needed to be fixed or re-inforced, torn brackets here & there. And I consider I myself not a hardcore offroader.
I can't imaging my car with 37"s & more stress to the car.

Well I would run 35's but i don't know how much pumpkin clearance I would have running those axles. Plus my dad has a set of 37's in the backyard that i can buy from him for a good price. I will no be doing any hard wheeling, local stuff is nothing hardcore just fun for a bunch of guys to go up on the weekend and play around. It will go on a few trips to say harlan and stuff. I think it will be okay, if i break something i will know to make it stronger the 2nd time around.

That's the way I feel, just go with what your happy with, then if you break it replace it and/or beef it up. No since dumping extreme amounts of money in it when im gonna do a lot of local crap, and be driving it on the road. Plus i'm only a college kid, i don't have the money flow i wish i did.

I say it more as a joke, since I spent around $4000 constantly buying spare shafts and other parts for a front 44 when I could have spent half of that on a front 60. Point is, doing it right the first time is always cheaper than doing it over.

a D44 and 35s should be ok, unless you wanna break stuff. i mean i can't speak for your wheelin style, but i've wheeled D30s and it can be done......... unless you like skinny pedal.........

with the 4 - 5" you have a good shot at doing it. go long arms it willl allow you to play with you susp. setup better. you can set it up to droop a lot more than flex up. (i ran bumpstops at 2") works well. 35s should work, 37s, ya play with it.

btw, i LOVE my sawzall.............. i entrust you like it too

I think after the responses and the research I can trim enough out to make it done. I am going to have to do something with the gas tank because I don't like it drooping and it will be in my way, but I planned on that from the beggining. You would be write that I love a good sawzall and grinder action on some sheet metal. Makes my day, i don't have all the parts together and I'm ready to just go cut the fenders out of it just for the heck of getting the project started.

I ran 36x13.5 Iroks on 4.5" lift. They measure closer to the size of other manufacturers 37s based on what I've read though. It was fine, but I bumped it up to 5.5" which gave me a better ability to steer while flexing. If I was a bit wider (still running a D30 front), much of the rubbing would probably go away.

I, too have major trimming, but I still have the inner fenders in the front and half of the inner fenders in the rear -- though the rears were cut for approach angle purposes, and the part left is still the part you would rub on. You can always trim the body, but the inner fender is going to give you the most fitment issues.

Totally agreed!
