So in Europe they have rear fogs. The US tails aren't wired for them, but I doubt it will be that hard, but have any of you wired the tail up for one? I am thinking of just going to the junkyard and cutting out a tail light harness to use and wiring it to the stock fog spot on the switch.

So I guess I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this yet. [smilie=bal_ask.gif]

Wow, No not too hard of a question, but since you brought it up, I personally thought it was too STUPID to deserve an answer.
actually many people have rear mounted lights, but not fog lights.

In Europe they have rear mounted fog lights so that when you are doing 200km/h on the Autobahn in the fog and you come up behind someone you can see them from farther off.

Cann't see a reason to put them on a ZJ in North America. Now driving lights to act as improved back lights I can understand.

Maybe if you can explain to us why you rear mounted fog lights we can better help you. Other than "cause they do it in Europe".

This is actually a practical idea in really dense fog - even at slower speeds. There are times here in Colorado when the clouds are at ground level (7,400 ft.). Sometimes you can't see the car in front of you until you're smelling the exhaust. I've seen this and agree with it. Just a couple (or one) small fog lamp in red or amber does the trick.

It's actually quite helpful if it's raining and your on the highway and the spray from your vehicle is obscuring the view to other drivers. It's really stupid to see idiots with Audi and Saabs and such who don't even know what the rear fog is but they are running them on sunny days. If it's a WJ, there is acutally a spot molded into the lowest section of the taillight for another bulb. I'm actually going to try to do this myself at some point. I hope it works out for you.

Was that too hard of a question, sorry I didn't ask the same old how do I cut my fenders, or where should I mount my light bar questions.
I don't know your GC model ,but usually there is a free spot reserved for a fog light on the original rear optic housing, you might have to driil a hole on it to install it,but rear foglights are very useful...on a foggy day sometimes you can't see cars who don't have them ,here in Argentina a lot of cars have them...

I just cut the spots out where they were and put in quad brake lights.

They possibly don't know they even have them on or have any idea how to turn them off. My mother-in-law had a Saab 93. I drove it a few times and never could figure out half the idiot designed controls on the darned thing. You have to wonder about a car where they put the ignition switch on the floor behind the shifter lever!

there was a good write on JU about that i was looking for it and couldn't find it..i can get some dense fog around here and the rain, well its a givin, how many times you been driving then all of a sudden you you see brake lights...by having an extra brake light(or fog light) on all the time in low visibility condtions this helps the drivers behind you see quicker to they can keep more of a distance (hopefully)...

Absolutely, in this part of the world where most cars come equipped with rear fog lights,is as simple as practically not being able to see cars that not have them on a foggy day,I think is the one of the easiest modifications to do and the benefit is great...Just finished mine using the original housing...

so is your whole left side on all the time? i would prefer to have the extra light on the bottom on all time (by a switch anyways) that way when i do brake they see more of a light difference rather just one side...

No, I turn it on on with a switc.. a switch...fog lights are annoying to other drivers when there is no fog...to bright...
