All I know is Sharon is watching me like a Hawk now so I really have to cool it for a while. She doesn't know a whole lot about cars and trucks but she is observant enough to spot something new that wasn't there before.

The stereo was an easy one though. She spotted the new head unit (the touch screen was kind of obvious) and commented that it did sound a lot better than the old stereo. Of course what she couldn't see was the amps, crossovers hiding under the back seat, the digital sound processor/equalizer hiding in the console, the new Alpine speakers hiding in the doors, the subwoofer hiding in the back among all the "junk" I keep back there, etc, etc.

So far I have her somewhat agreeing with me that I do need to change the gears (I told her I would probably burn out the trans if I didn't change the gears)
HAHA, That tactic used to work for me

LOL... same here! I was able to get the regearing done when she asked where the power was (thank you, 4.slow!) and I explained the whole big tires = loss of power thing. And then she asked the clincher... "So what can we do about it?"

lol... well, dear, lemme 'splain to ju...

:D

Well, sort of lucky. One potential problem I have with the plan is another car we have that Sharon might just say I can just drive for now until we get the Jeep regeared. That way we won't have to worry about the tranny and there's no rush to fix it. She hasn't said it yet but I'm waiting for it.

That is when you need to lay down the law and make yourself comfy on the couch haha! My wifey and I argue over what parts to put into the rigs, not whether we can or not. I always say it, but im a lucky duck

Warhorse, Saw your post about the ARB and fig'd I better check out your rig as I have not for too long. Found the pic with the ARB on there and it looks awesome!! Can't wait to see some pics of it with the winch mounted up too! NICE JOB!

Thanks. I'm trying to get a "After" shot posted up. I'll try to pose it in the same spot I took the "Before" pic of when I first got it. Of course an after shot is never really the final one. There will always be something to change! :)

One thing I keep thinking and rethinking is the roof arrangement. Not sure I really like having the spare tire up there. Not very practical if I ever have a flat tire. That thing is way heavy! I might dump that whole mess and get a rear bumper / tire carrier for the spare and then maybe put one of those low profile Surco racks up there for just the hi-lift, shovel/axe and lights.

Did you decide whether you were leaving it black or painting it white?
Leaving it black, definitely. Like I just posted above, I think I'm going to get a "matching" rear bumper with a tire carrier so I can get that heavy a## spare off the roof.

Thats pretty F'n sweet

Do you guys have to have the front plates on in VA?

Looks awesome man! I agree with the spare tire issue. I never liked it on the roof because it was such a PITA for obvious reasons. If your gonna get a tire carrier setup IMHO KOR is the best hands down

KOR is one of the ones I'm thinking of. Lot of money though and right now, I'm flat broke. The Wifey has put a stop on any more spending for a while. One thing I have thought about though is trying to make my own. I have a MIG welder (just need to learn how to weld) and even a plasma cutter and a junkyard down the road loaded with scrap metal.

Yeah, plates on the front and back. Sure does ugly up that front bumper, doesn't it? I hate getting tickets though.
That Sucks, I still have PA plates (oops plate:) ) on mine. They only require on the rear.

Whenever anyone says this ^^, I always hafta point to this: http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=94915

It's what I'm gonna do... when I get the time and inclination. But I think w/ those 35s I just put on, the inclination will be there soon enough!
