swapping parts between jeeps... (factory options)

so the '97 i picked up lacks a few options that my '96 has. seeing as how the '96 is going to be the trail/tow jeep, there are a few things i'd like to swap over. so my question is... will the following options swap over "plun-n-play" style without any other modifications:

all of these are from the '96:

1) heated/defrost side mirrors

2) power seats

3) factory alarm system

4) 5.2 style VIC

i just know sometimes the wiring is there on all models... and sometimes it's not.

if it helps at all... they are both laredo's... the '96 is a 5.2 and the '97 has the 4.0.

Just a guess...

...but I bet the only way to know is to start looking for the wiring. If they were both 5.2 or 4.0, then your chances might be better, but I'm guessing that along with the different engines, you will find slight changes in the wiring harnesses too.
I hope I'm wrong and everything works out for ya!

I have a 95 limited, my friend has a 95 Laredo, his is loaded with leather, full VIC, over head console, v8, everything mine has. Mine has lights on the front doors that come on when the interior lights come on. His just has little reflectors there. We pulled his door panel apart and found the wiring there for it and everything.....so we tried putting one of my lights in there to see if it would work and it didnt. I dont know why. sometimes maybe even if you DO have the wiring there it still may not work.

good thing to consider. might be two ends that need plugged in for some things. come spring time when i get around to doing the stereo i'll be exploring the harness(es)
