My front left dash speaker has some static noise in it when playing. I've already tried replacing the speaker. Also, it's unaffected by volume or engine running. In fact, with the engine off it ticks like a clock. Any ideas?

Well, if your radio/player is hooked up correctly, and you tried replacing the speaker with a new one of the same impedence, then i'd guess your radio is on its' way out. If it was engine interferance it would probably affect both channels and be good with engine off. Since it ticks w/o the engine on, that definately rules out engine static. Has it always done this, or is it a recent issue?

Mine was sounding pretty bad. Even after I changed it out for another although it did help. Just put in some powerbass tweeter component speakers in, and sounds great now. Strange thing was the drivers side was totally done cone wise but didn't make any strange sounds at all. Go figure.

I've got the same problem with the rear right door speaker. Every once in a while the speaker will have static with the music, only out of that speaker. Other speakers are OK. The static is unaffected by volume control. If I shut off the radio for 10 seconds the static wont come back for a while. For no reason, I'm thinking it could be a cold solder in the amp. Hasn't gotten bad enough to pull anything apart yet.
