Hey guys,

I have a 3.7L V6 Laredo 4x4 that I am looking to tow an enclosed trailer with. I recently added on a hitch receiver and completed the trailer wiring as my vehicle did not come equipped with the factory tow package.

I understand the max weight I am able to tow with my Jeep is 3,500 lbs, but I was curious if I need to add a transmission cooler to my vehicle. I plan on making the trip from Denver to Anchorage next month and want to ensure I have my bases covered.

Any advice and recommendations are appreciated.

Yes, you want to add a trans cooler to any vehicle you plan to tow with if it was not equipped as such from the factory.

I do not believe my jeep came with the factory tow package but it appears it may have a small transmission cooler fixed to the front of radiator. Is this sufficient or is a larger external transmission cooler necessary?
