I had a completely custom trans built.
Sweet set up. Did you just put the 46RE parts in your 42RE case?

I found a site yesterday for a company called Novak Conversions. They specialize in mating GM trannies to various AMC engines. Anybody have any comments or experience with this company?

Yep that is exactly what we did.

I have to say it is AWESOME. Give the guys at Escalon Transmission a call and let them know you want what Dirk has. They will hook you up and they are willing to ship.

Great! I'll have to do that. It'll probably be a while though. I just got my tranny rebuilt so I don't want to go out and spend a lot of money rebuilding my tranny again. I don't want to feel like I wasted all that money for nothing (which I'm starting to think I did). It sure looks a lot cheaper than converting to 700R-4 or some other GM transmission.

And I suppose it's holding up well to your stroker?

Yea the tranny and stroker work GREAT together.

Once I get the stroker all dialed in I will be really happy though.

Another thing that might be a bit gay I am thinking of adding is a B&M Megashifter to the trans. I like to drive it like a stick and the ratchet action of the megashifter would be nice.

Again this is LOW on the list right now.

I don't know, that sounds pretty sweet to me. I do like the idea of driving an auto with the added ability to drive it like a manual whenever you want.

A couple days after I got my tranny rebuilt it got stuck in 3rd but I was still able to shift into second (but not first, even if I moved the lever into 1st) by moving the lever into the 2nd position. I thought it was kind of fun to drive around with a 2 speed manual while I took it back to get it fixed.
