I need a new front track bar bracket. Mine is giving me problems and i need to find a new one. Now, i have gone through and looked at all the different types, but i would like know what you guys think and which ones you are using. so, any input would be really great as i need to get this fix asap. thanks guys!

What do you mean by "problems"?

it is actually moving... i had it welded a while ago but now it is moving again. it moves in two places, where the factory weld is at and where it bolts to the frame. since this is a steering piece i dont really want to mess with it, id rather replace it. now, im running all RE and i already have the adj trackbar, so i was thinking about just getting their bracket. is there anything else i need? do i need to get a new end on the mount side of the trackbar?

those trac bar brackets put a lot of stress on the stock welds. I would get an adjustable bar for the front.

You may also need those welds redone as the brackets crack the welds pretty easily. DONT DRIVE IT IF IT HAS SHEARED OFF.

not trying to get smart... but i do have a adj. track bar... read up above.. however my Stock bracket sucks and is moving. Should i just get another stock one or should i get an aftermarket one like rusty's or RE or something of the sort?

at the frame end or the axle end?if its the frame end go to polyperformance.com . if its the frame end id get someone to weld the exsisting one or do it yourself if you have a welder

sorry I didnt catch that, pretty obvious.

You shouldnt need a new bracket, as long as you know someone who is a competent welder.

so you guys think i should just weld the current one i have? or take that one off get a new one and put some new bolts in it and maybe have that one welded... the reason i am asking this is because im afraid that just welding this one wont fix the problem. i wish i could draw you guys a picture of what i mean...

snap a picture of the current one and its damage if you can.

I only recommend welding it because it seems like the best solution. Now if its a bad bracket to begin with it would be pointless, obviously.

If you already have an adjustable trac bar that was made to fit the stock frame bracket, ball joint or johnny joint type, it wont fit with Rusty's HD front trac bar bracket. Rusty's has a large bushing type joint to mate with his HD bracket.
I'm confused about your problem with the stock frame bracket for the front trac bar. It has two bolts on the bottom and two bolts on the side and is a pressed metal angle with no OE welds.

ill try to get some pictures tonight when i get home from work. thanks for your guys help. I really appriciate it... ;)

I'm interested in info on this issue too. I was told by a mechanic who checked out my front end when doing an alignment that there was some movement at the axle housing bracket end of my front adjustable track bar. I removed the track bar and checked its ends/bushings/sleeves - no problems. I checked the bracket and welds and didn't see anything wrong. Reinstalled the track bar, but still have some movement in the front that I can't find.

Check to make sure your bolt at the axle bracket end is just large enough to fit the new sleeve in the new trac bar bushing. I had to increase my bolt size to remove some of the slop at that end. Wouldn't hurt to check the same thing at the frame mount end also if you have the bushing type. ;)

[smilie=bal_thanx.gif] It seemed like there was no slop when I bolted it back up, but I'll double check.
