The lower control arms on a ZJ are at a slight angle inwards. Would it be ok to relocate them and make them straight with the rest of the frame? And would it be ok to weld on the axle tubing to do so? This rig is a daily driver.
They are angled inward so to allow the tire not to rub when turning completely to one side and suspension compression. You might get rubbing if you straighten it out. Specially if you lift it and put bigger tires on. Welding on the axle can be done but be careful and stitch weld it so as not to concentrate too much heat on the one area as it will cause warpage of the tube. You might also want to change gear oil after also.
