Well since I had no plans to sell my 97 Green ZJ, I named the build thread to fit. I just started modding the 5.9 today, so I'll make a thread to pertain to it and show my mods. What I started with.

Purchased on February 21st 2009 with 159,000 miles

Stock Specs:
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited
5.9L V8
Fulltime 4 wheel drive
Front Axle: Low Pinion D30 3.73 gear ratio
Rear Axle: D44 aluminum 3.73 gear ratio w/LS

Modifications to date:
Up Country Springs, 3/4in Spacer upfront
245/75/16 Kuhmo Road Venture MT's
03-05 Rubicon Moab Rims
Doug Thorley Headers, 3" pipe all the way back, High Flow cat, Magnaflow large body Muffler
Vanco Big Brake Upgrade
Mopar Performance ECU
Kevins HD Radiator Support
WJ RB1 Navigation Headunit with integrated IPod Controller
Clear Corner Lenses
OME SS
Completely New Interior including all panels, switches, carpet, and overhead console
Crown Glass Headlights(EU Version)
EU Version Turn Signals(solid orange)
And other small things I cant remember

On the way home from Virginia Beach, where I picked it up, we stopped in Crozet to meet up with Maxx(Zj95maxx) and Chris(fuzzy59) where they were wheeling. Got a few pics of my 5.9 next to the beast.

Started work on the 5.9 today. Put my kevins radiator support and ARB on. I had to clearance the support to clear the brackets for the ARB. I will post pics of the bumper installed tomorow because I didnt realise you have to put the grill back on before installing the ARB, so i have to take it back off to put the grill back on, damnit. Also, my 4" Rough Country lift came in the mail today. This was unexpected because I was told it wasnt shipping out till next week, but Im not complaining

Its super quiet at idle, it only gets loud when you really romp on it, and i have headers and a high flow cat with 3" pipe all the way back, so i cant imagine how quiet it would be on a normal 5.2. I want to swap it out for a smaller body magnaflow or a super 44.

Also, I might have a buyer for my wheels, so KM2's should be in the 5.9's near future

Ordered, well ordering the last of it tonight.... Was gonna do some stuff to the 5.2 today but I went to ROTC Weapons Lab with one of my friends and then it was dark in pouring when I left. Maybe tomorrow afternoon...

My wife tells me that it is still in the middle of the driveway with a dead battery! That's where SHE left it. Since Sept, I have only been home 11 days ( 9 days of that for Christmas)! The real sad part about this whole thing is that I have only put 3,000 miles on the Jeep since I bought in Nov 2007. Will be home sometime near late March. The warrenty on the new -242 will run out before long before the mileage! --Jim

its going on this weekend hopefully! ill be riding around onpizza cutter stock wheels and 5" of lift until my rims and KM2s come in, LOL
