Ok guys, yesterday morning i started my 95 with the 318 and went back inside to get ready for work (it was -5 degrees F outside) when i came out 10 minutes later my jeep was over heated. The temp gauge was maxxed out. I shut it off and popped the hood to find my belt was thrown. After a few minutes of investigating, i found that the aluminium plate/bracket that holds my power steering pump to the head crack right in half and the pump literaly fell off. I ordered the new parts and am praying no damage was done from the overheat, but any ideas on what might have caused this? Someone told me they have heard of the bracket to head bolts loosening on their own and that when i cranked it cold it jarred it enough to snap it? what do you think????

-5 below? Hahahahaha.

I'm in Alaska now and I am laughing at the mild winter. I guess it's not like this every year, but today it was 25!. My mom emailed (parents still are in Maine) and I guess it was -50 with the wind (about -25 without wind). That's pretty cold, but I was home when it got -46, with wind it was -80

i've overheated mine a few times by accident from a cracked radiator when it was 100 degrees outside. of course this is never a good thing but luckily it has survived and is still kicking. that was at least 40k miles ago and i am sitting at 152k right now. just be nice to her and be sure to provide lots of attention... lol.

there is no way in hell i would ever live where it is that cold. i can't stand the cold weather in texas or louisiana, much less any further north. when it hits 40 here and w/ the hummidity, i'm putting lightweight thermals on...

i thought everyone up there used block heaters?
