Has anyone else experienced a failure with the driver or passenger door power lock?

Have you noticed that it's next to impossible to unlock the door once the electrical component fails? Even the interior slide seems to just be another switch to operate the lock.

I got locked out in a parking lot when my driver side failed. I didn't have the remote and since the driver side failed my key was useless. ( only 1 door has a key lock ) Again the key seems to just operate a switch for the electrical portion of the lock.

I have replaced the power locks on both the driver's door and rear pass. door on my 2k. Told by the stealership that it is a common problem. Oh well, goes with owning a WJ.

First one died when it was cold second one in the fall maybe 50F. My power window (driver's side) is awfuly slow too they "lubricated the track". It didn't help for more than a day.
