I just bought an '04 Grand Cherokee Freedom edition with 4.7 HO and I'm very pumped about it!

I'm already dreaming about the lift/tires of my dreams. Since I'm new to the Jeep scene I hope not to offend anyone with my ignorance, but would like to ask a couple questions:

1) Why don't I see anyone running 15" rims on the WJ (calipers too large)?

2) I'd love to run 33x12.5, will a 4" lift work here? No rock crawling on my part. I can only find info on teraflex, what other companies are out there?

I've got many more quesitons, but don't want to get to far ahead of myself!!!

Congratulations on your first jeep!!!

In almost all cases 15 inch rims will not work. Yes, it is the calipers. I've seen some discussions of shaving them. But, why bother. The first time you find thick mud you will have problems. Just go to 16's

4 inches of lift will get you 32's. Unless you want to do fender trimming.

Consider this. Since this is your first Jeep. If you don't already have it, put on the xfer case skid plate from Jeep. You should already have the gas tank skid. Add a set of tow hooks. Spend your money on Kevin's Sliderz and go play! Take your Jeep off road and drive it for a while before making changes. Then you will have a better idea as to what you need.

i have 15" wheels on my WJ...no problems with the calipers what-so-ever. in order to fit 33's on a WJ, you will most likely need 6 inches of lift and long arms. but armor is the big thing not to mess up the new heep...good luck w/whatever you decide to do.

I have 15" rims and 33x12.50s. I am currenty running 6" on short arms. would not recomend that for a new jeep but it works for me. Go with the rock crawler 8" Rockready stuff you some 35's and what a sweet jeep it will be. Also get some of Kevin's Rockrails before you even think of turning off on a dirt road with that new jeep.

Take Care
