Hey, i have a 1994 grand cherokee and i want to lift it. i was looking at the a 3.5" kit. it says i can fit 32" tires. is this true?? i have 30x9.50's on it now and thsoe fit with no change. i dont want to have to trim the fenders, would it be better to run 31's..or am i safe with 32's? and lastly if i run 31's...will it still have a mudd bogger look and performance??

Depends on the length of the replacement arms (if they're even included)...
If they're longer than stock, you MAY be able to fit 32's with a different front bumper. You'll also have to address the rear. Bumpstops are a must for both. I'd say you can expect to need 1.5 - 2 inches of extension for your bumpstops to keep you from stuffing your tire into your fenderwell. I've trimmed my front bumper from the bottom line down, and have ALMOST no rubbing. In the rear, when I flex the ZJ out, I get some rubbing on my rear bumper, but hey its plastic. :D

IMHO if you're uhhh.. hesitant to cut, go with 31's. Also keep in mind that if you don't want to rub your tire on the LCAs at full turn, you'll need some new rims with more backspacing. Stock rims will work, but you'll lose some turning radius.

Stay away from the FT kit. I would go with another kit. The full traction kit has gotten some very bad press.

ok two more questions.... :newbie: ...what is the best lift kit to get?...and if i put on a 3 inch lift am i actually get 3 inches of lift?? cause i read somewhere that a guy put on a 3"lift and only really got 2"...is that right??

I would get the Rubicon Express 3.5" kit with and get a trackbar for the front from RE also. In the tech articles on this site, it lists RE as like number six on the suspension companies. Well thats bull-c*r*a*p... RE has got to be the best outside of clayton (and maybe some others but thats my opinion). I have the RE 3.5" with a trackbar in the front (if you don't get the trackbar you have to drill the front brackets making them weaker) and I have always been happy. If anything STAY AWWAY from anything pro-comp or full raction. At that stay away from ALL procomp parts. I have the MTs and they have lasted 9k miles. Their lights can't handle vibrations. Lastly their shocks physically broke on the front of my rig. If you want a rocking set-up... get the 3.5" RE super-ride with a front trackbar, 15x9 rims with 3.5" backspacing and 32/11.5r15 all or mud terrain BFGoodrich tires. Out of all of the tires I have driven on the BFGs have always been the best

ok here's what i think i'm gonna do ...rustys 3" lift....and 31x11.50 tires...figure that since i cant fit 32's i'll go for a wider 31 for better mudding ..and for the meaner look...whatta ya'll think?

Rusty's :thankyou: I don't know much about rusty's. I do know that half of the people love the service and the other half hate them..... what can you do.... I would go with RE..... remember you get what you pay for so if you invest the extra (what is it?) like 200 for the RE kit I can guarentee you will enjoy the results. As for getting the super wide tires..... they will probably rub like its nobody's buisness... I have seen a few 3"ZJs with 31" swampers (almosy all of them run a little bit wider) but I don't see many. just my 2 cents
