My buddy just lifted his jku rubicon and said I could have his shocks, springs and control arms. Would these even fit? Has anyone don’t this before on a ZJ. My ZJ is currently stock height

The cheapest way to lift a ZJ that I've found (which is what I did on my '98 beater)...

Pull the front springs and move them to the rear. This will lift the rear ~3.5" or so. You'll need a track bar bracket or adjustable track bar. You may also want to pick up some upper rear control arms from a JK and put them in place as the lowers on the rear of the ZJ. They are slightly longer and will correct pinion angle. You'll need a few washers but otherwise, bolt in.

Then order a set of Rubicon Express 4.5" XJ coils. You can get them on e-bay for under $100 for the pair. They will lift the front of the ZJ ~3.5". Again, track bar bracket or adjustable bar will be needed to recenter the axle. Adjustable lower control arms or solid arms built for a 3-4" lift will correct the pinion angle and caster angle.

Then all you need is shocks.

For a couple hundred bucks, you can get 3.5" all spring lift that retains decent handling and such. I'm clearing 33x12.50s on stock wheels with 1.5" wheel spacers. Works great for what we do.

Hi I have been trying, but coming up short with an answer to my question which is. Which of the many versions of the jeep grand cherokee is the most off-road capable. I hope you can assist me with some information or sources of information

JK shocks have different mounting up front. So a set of bar pin eliminators will help with the front lower. I have yet to do this, as I'm behind on other projects. But, I've got the shocks on hand and pretty much everything else I need.
