First off, this is my first post. I'm new to this forum thing.
Secondly, thank you in advance for any responses i get!
Ok, so..
I purchased a 1997 Jeep ZJ Laredo with 318.
Obviously it has the NP249
why, chrysler? why?
anyways,
i want to drop it and install the NP231 tcase.
I have figured out this far that they will have the same input spline count.
so my question is. does anyone know about lengths and measurments?
If i grab a 231 out of a 2000 XJ at my local yard, Can i simply swap the tcase and shift linkage, and be able to install the drive shafts out of the xj also?
I can't find any threads or videos about it on the net anywhere..
all i hear about is switching the input shaft?
but if the 231 from a 2000xj has the same spline count and exposed length (.840) as my 97 zj, i should be able to just throw it in, change the linkage and use the drive shafts from the xj right???
thanks again..
