Hey [smilie=1zj2 (1).gif] guys,

maybe this should be in the "Lets go on a trail run" thread cause I have ZERO authority to declare a Grand Slam, BUT....

I really wanna start something for Labor Day 2007 in Eastern Washington up in Manastash.... Yes, I understand that's a long ways away from now, but I'm sure others could agree that a good run has to be planned in advanced.

The weekend would involve trail runs on Sat and Sun of that weekend. We would obviously be camping on Friday night and on Saturday. Trails I had "in mind" and that are totally up for discussion are....

Saturday... Kaner Flats - Manastash Ridge - Shoestring - Tripod - Funny/Moon Rocks - 4W607 down to camp in Manastash

Sunday... Frost Mtn... Manastash Ridge - Shoestring - The New Shoestring - Tipover - Tripod - Funny/Moon Rocks... the rest could be left up in the air.

I'm just throwing this out there to all of you. Yes, there are more trails around WA State than just the plethera of trails in Manastash. We could skip over to Liberty as well. However, this run should satisfy most of the varying ability of ZJ's of NAGCA in WA (during that time of year)... even the new guys with a 2"BB and 31's.

For those of you who are not familiar with the area it has a lot to offer, and although it is in Eastern Washington it truely won't be too much of a burden of a commute for those of you in Western WA. To give you guys an idea you can access this area through Naches via Hwy410, or Cle-elum via I90.

Well guys, gimme some feedback....

hey russ, i'd bring my camper too, if i had one ;)

what does everyone think we should do, now that the wagon trail/greenwater part is out.
I am thinkin if we run late gettin through the liberty trails, we may as well just camp there for a night. We could wheel out the trail way to ellensburg in the morning (my vote), or take the pavement....

Sounds cool, but right now the boys from Idaho have directions to our camp at Manastash, but I can give them new ones.... Let's shoot for Manastash for now. HEY Russ, can you bring or someone... a wood splitter? I broke mine Memorial Weekend... Also a few chain saws in the group would be cool... I'm bringin my lil mini 14" Stihl.

I can bring a spliting axe and a chain saw. An axe is a good thing to have in a jeep anyway. I vote for manastash fri night. If we start early at liberty we can run most of the good trails with plenty of time to get over to the other side. My fav trails at liberty so far were the ones we ran after work this summer, That would be a good starter loop. The weather could change for the worst in one day up there and snow is in the forcast. If the weather is bad manastash will have plenty for 2 days. The rocks are inpressive for those who have never been there, although impossible if snowed on. Does everyone have maps to look at?

sounds good.
i am along for the ride. I hope you got a good one planned Mr. Rocks. ;)

P.S. wheeling the gravel roads to the top of quartz sounds laaaaaame.

Well relax Greenmachine.... if you go SLOW on the gravel roads you won't have to worry about breaking your D35

Did you send them PMs?

I sent a PM back to the guy with the WJ at John's shop. He wanted the details. I'll be talking to John in the mourning about a raffle prize.

Snow level over there is supposed to come down to 3000 feet this week!

I should have my 231 swapped in by Wednesday. Not sure if I even want to put my Aussie up front for this run. I probably will but I know the reason my CV axles have lasted as long as they have is because I'm open up front.

There'a a trip report on PNWJeep from some guys out at the Naches. They say the snow was starting to fall as they were heading out.
