The Zj and Wj's also both come with 5.9s the 4.7 is junk its way to expensive to replace and just not worth it.

i have a inline 6 in my 93 ZJ and i would not give up for anything else. Its easy to work on and just like wheelzjs says its got plenty of torque. the V8 is nice if your gonna tow but just offroading the inline 6 is the way to go.

a V8 is would be a good choice if you plan on towing quads but an inline6 can pull also. but there are much more choice for a Zj then there are for Wj's and the ZJ comes with inline6 4.7V8 5.2V8 and 5.9v8. so basically comes down to just what you want.

no the ZJ's didn't come with 4.7s my mistakes they came with 2.5L diesel 4.0L, 5.2L, 5.9L
