Hey guys, I am looking into new tires for the Jeep. I have figured that the Jeep is my daily driver and I won't be lifting it anytime soon. So, I wanted to get 4 bran new tires because mine are looking pretty shabby. I want to put 235/75 R15's on my stock 15x7 rims. The stock tire size is 225, with this 10 mm increase in width really matter? Is anyone else running this setup? (Reason being, there are a very limited selection of 225 width tires, and a huge amount of 235's.

Heck yeah it'll work. When I bought my ZJ used it had 235's. I'm running 30x9.50's(slightly larger than 235's) on stock wheels and soon to 31x10.50's. You'll have absolutely no problem. Do you know what kind of tire you're getting yet?

I am looking into the BF Goodrich line maybe the Allterian KO? Err something like that.

You ran 30x9.5's on your stock suspension... maybe I should do something like that...

Depends what brand. I had a pair Of SEARS Trailhandler a few years ago that were only a quarter inch taller than the 20,000 mile+ BFG AT 235-75-15's on the front.

Ya might look into 30X9.50 tires as they might be the biggest that will fit on 7 inch rims which is what you probably have......as do I. If you don't want to go that large with stock 7 inch rims I know that the 235X15 tires will fit with no problem. Most tire dealers will tell you that 30X90.50 tires will fit on a 7.50 rim or larger but I know from experience with a Ford F150 that the 30X9.50 fit works.....but on a Ford F150 2x4 truckand, of course, with 7 inch wheels. The larger tires were Cooper Discovery AT's and they worked just fine with no trimming etc.....I'm currently looking to replace the factory 225 tires with the 30X9.50 and will tell ya how that works out.

I can tell you from experience that you can fit a 30x9.50 on the stock rims with no problems rubbing or otherwise the only thing is your speedometer is off but that can be fixed. I am currently running the BFG 30x9.50 AT KO tires with no lift and no problems.

I know that the 30x9.50's are just a tiny bit larger than the 235X75 and that could make the difference tween rubbing or not.... but I use this as a daily driver and it will probably never go to the full suspension stops. We like to have daily drivers look good too though right?

I know exactly what your saying this is my daily driver but I still want it to look nice and be able to handle that weekend trip where some should not travel.

Just to report back to this thread. I bought some 235/75/R15 BFG AT KO's and they are working out nicely. I bought them in August and they are working out well. But, don't buy a tire that looks cool. These are pretty bad in the rain. Snow and mud is good.

Also, if you have use this as a daily driver and go on the highway a lot, don't buy these. They SUCK on the highway. I have a friend with a ZJ, same tires and he complains about the same thing. It is very hard to stay in the lanes. Very scare when they first got on, but now it is OK. I never drive on the highway so they work out for me.

Also, they are HEAVY! my gas mileage went down 2-3mpg. As noted by the computer.

But hell, they do look cool right? [smilie=bal_cool.gif] If someone else was doing this, I would go up to the next metric size, or 30's. These measure about 29. Never any problems with hitting.

I will install my 2inBB along with some MUCH NEEDED shocks. A fairly good setup for a daily driver.
