So I'm driving to work the other day and I'm about 3/4 of the way there, when I stop at a light and the engine just shuts off. No warning, no sputtering, gauges are all in normal range. It took a bit of cranking and a couple WOT's to get it to start again. I wasn't overly concerned about it at the time, figuring it was just some random thing. Driving in today, the same thing happened at about the same spot. Now I'm wondering w.t.f. is going on? Like to nip this one early before it ends up stranding me somewhere, or stalling me in the middle of an intersection. It's only been these two times so far, but I think that's about 1 more time than I'd like...

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I know... I guess I was just hoping it might be one of those "part x has a habit of..." type of things. Cat is new, don't think it's electrical as there was no jarring or anything to knock a connection loose. Probably a sensor, though which one would shut the engine off? I'll try and pull some codes today and see where it gets me.

Solved. :D

Pretty stupid, actually...

There was a pinhole in the heater hose that was causing coolant to leak onto the coil and short off the ignition. I've had the problem before of having to wipe off condensation on a damp day to get the Jeep to start, but this was the first time it caused it to stall.

Anyhow, new hose solved the problem (duh). Figured I'd update this in case it might help anyone else.

YMMV
