Rather than pay the $200 for a dealer to put in new engine mounts, I am getting ready to put them in myself. Anyone out there have any tips for me. I am sure it's not difficult but tips are always beneficial. www.jeeplife.info

Did mine on my 5.2, there is not very much room for your hands, so an air-ratchet would be very beneficial. Other than that its pretty straight foreward...mine were baaad pretty much crumbled!

I've got the 5.2 and recently did the mounts. Some tips:

1. Don't plan on being anywhere for a few hours if this is the first time
2. Turn the radio on, it helps lower stress
3. Beer

Seriously though, some PB Blaster or similar on the bolts a few days in advance may help. Just make sure the engine's jacked up or the bolts won't come out. I used a block or wood between the jack and oil pan. Good luck, take your time and try not to get too pissed.

Thanks for the advice, I just got the new ones in today. Ordered mine from Tellico, they are half the price of the originals and actually look a little bit better in quality. Thanks again. P.S. got plenty of the beer waiting and lots of things to throw.

Thanks again everyone, put em' in today. No wonder the dealerships want so much to do it. That was a pain, caused my tendonidis to kick back in. Before I buy any more parts for my Jeep, I am going to buy an air compressor and an air ratchet. That would have made things so much easier. www.jeeplife.info.
