Just to close this off, I got the radio wired up, working and installed. A wiring puzzle but solved now.
I would still appreciate any advice on a code reader.
Glad to here you got it figured out.
I almost purchased a code reader last month but ran short of $$.
If you go to E-bay or Amazon.com you can find a code reader Between the prices of $40-$200 Even $1,000 and more if your a large shop.
For the year you are looking at you need (OBD II) This is a 1996 and newer.
Prior the made OBD1.
Take one day and Read reveiws on them for the best brand in your price range. The ones under $100 can give out on you after a year or two.
Also they have been known to fail when you download the info to your computer.
This is when I say, "you get what you pay for".
But I am a cheap skate. and would buy one from the goodwill.
