I just lifted my 98 grand, and when I hit a bump while turning right (or sometimes going straight if it's hard enough) there is a heavy metallic clunk heard from down below. My mechaninc said that he thinks the steering linkage joint is hitting on the bottom of the right sway bar mount, but I can't tell for sure because I can't simulate a hard enough jolt without driving it. Has anyone had this problem before or has a suggestion on fixing it?
This is very common actually. You can have the linkage bent so it will clear the end link, or you can simply cut off the swaybar mount, and extend it about an inch. I do believe JKS also makes somthing to solve this problem.

Get used to clunks, bangs, pops, grinds, and whines. Its a Jeep thing, and we all understand one way or another. ;)
