I believe the XJ coils will be a hair too soft for the V8 you may only be looking at about 2" of lift. Unloaded my old ZJ front springs were appx 18.5", I have the V8 also. I imagine it was about 12" weighed down... With those soft springs from the XJ, while going around curves it may pitch and roll a little more.

Well, There are different rates for the 2 engines, You can do the front springs in the rear and get some 3" springs for the front for well under $150. And when going up to like 4" of lift the least recommendations are usually longer lower control arms all around, front adj. track bar(or bracket-->not the best), The brake lines are ok at that height the rear track bar is ok but could use a bracket or adj. bar, An alignment is a def. And you will REALLY want to look into a steering dampner it will really help bumpsteer among other things...D.W.... The OME (SD40 I believe) is suppose to be the best on the market if not then one of the best. I would like to say that is all that is NECESSARY but you may want more and others may recommend more. I hope this helps...
