Hello all. Just joined your forum, and I must say it's a great place; lots of helpful info.

As far as my issue, it's as follows:

I'm in the process of purchasing an extra clean '93 Laredo with the 4.0 liter straight 6 engine. It has good power, doesn't seem to knock or burn oil, but it has a bad habit of stalling while it's being driven. The speed or temperature don't matter. You can be driving 60mph, and the vehicle will just shut down. After a couple of minutes, the truck will start back up with little to no hesitation. The owner has had the truck scanned, there are no error codes. All sensors have been changed. The only things that need to be changed or checked is the fuel pump, filter, injectors, and have the fuel pressure checked on the rail. Also, the exhaust manifold has a crack. Could this be a contributing factor? Thanks in advance.

Seems like a common issue is the fuel system. I replaced my pump, FPR and injectors a while back and it ran SOOOOO much better. If youve covered all the sensors, then youre on the right path: fuel! Sorry I have nothing specific, but it could be a few things. Start with checking the rail.

I am also having the same problem with my 97 zj tsi. we have replaced the fuel pump 3 times and the ignition system once and gone through many batteries.

Mr. Brass, have you replaced the wiring to the injectors or just the injectors themselves?

I seem to recall there being a crank sensor on the bellhousing area on the 4.0....I had a (don't lauugh) Renault Medallion that had the same symptoms...replaced the sensor & all was well....The sensor reads off the flexplate if I'm not mistaken....and I could be....
