Hello, I’m new here and I’ve been looking through threads about the ZJ front end clunk, but I’ve done pretty much everything. I’ve tightened every bolt imaginable, I’ve had my son come out and look for anything moving or “clunking” but there was nothing. The only thing I’ve not been looking for is motor mounts. But other than that, I’m at a loss. Anyone have suggestions?

Not control arms. Just replaced upper and lowers, front and back. Also not clunking from shifting. It clunks when turned all the way to one side, doesn’t matter which side, and then shifting from reverse to drive. Very specific, I know, and I have no idea how it does that.

Hi

check your control arm bushing
the external steel shell may rust away
then you have your bushing having a gap to play with

in the process of changing my front lower arm bushing
on my WJ

the lower right on the diff is wiggling at will
( over 1/8” of play )

also have sketchy front end
have to correct all the time
like my front end as a mind on its own
