So I just did the 247 to 242 swap and everything is great....except for one thing, the wiring harness I bought to turn the part time light on isn't the right one. I was told from a couple write-ups that it was the 56041438-AA, but the TC side of the wire has the wrong connector.

Has anyone else gone through this and know the correct wiring harness?

It's a 242HD from a 2002 WJ with the 4.7L

Thanks!

Not certain, but might narrow it down some. I believe it might be another factor of the '00-01 changeover. I just put in my '04 donor in my '99. Already did the tranny and engine last fall. The 99 takes a 4 wire plug, the later takes a 2. Also, you can not swap switches, they seat at a different depth.

Haven't got around to it yet. Hasn't been a priority, but should before the weather gets cold.

I got the correct wiring harness and plugged it in. But the light doesn't come on....think the switch is bad? Is plugging in this wiring harness the only thing that's needed to illuminate the light on the dash?

Here are the part numbers for the two different 242 wiring harnesses:
4-pin (2001 and earlier) - 56041438AA

2-pin (2002 and later) - 56041899AB

So that others may avoid my mistake
